CFO: Known Issues with Electronic Employee Reimbursement Form (eForm 229)

March 31, 2021

Banner: Important Notice. Achieving Excellence in Financial Management, Chief Financial Officer Organization.

We’ve found a few issues with the new Employee Reimbursement Form, FS-6500-229 (eForm 229), which was launched in January.  Here are the issues we’ve found:

Issue 1

Many employees’ LincPass certificates still use their @fs.fed.us email address. The new eForm 229 only accepts emails that end in @usda.gov.  The employees with @fs.fed.us in their email must continue to use the paper FS-6500-229 Form, which you can find in the Employee Reimbursements Quick Guide, until their LincPass has been updated.   For more information on how to check which email address your LincPass certificate uses, please refer to the signature portion of our eForm instructions starting on page 5 for Claimants and page 6 for Supervisors.

Issue 2

If you need to change the pre-populated Supervisor, you can click the Supervisor Email block and enter the name of the Supervisor you wish to send your eForm 229 to for approval.  If the form does not recognize the Supervisor’s email you are trying to enter, you must continue to use the paper FS-6500-229, which you can also find in the Employee Reimbursements Quick Guide.
