HRM: Access 2023 Tax Year W-2s via EPP

January 16, 2024

Banner: HRM Update.

Tax Year 2023 W-2’s are now available on the USDA National Finance Center’s website, Employee Personal Page and will document all payments made between Pay Periods 26, 2022 through Pay Period 25, 2023. The W-2 will also include all 2023 manual payments processed through Dec. 27, 2023.

In early February 2024, NFC will mail out W-2s to employees who did not opt out of receiving a paper copy. Employees need to log into EPP to verify their mailing address is correct and make any changes, if needed. In addition to printing W-2s from EPP, employees will also be able to import their 2023 W-2 information into TurboTax. When signing into TurboTax, employees will be prompted to enter their Social Security number (SSN) and gross salary as displayed on their 2023 W-2.

Employees who had an outstanding salary overpayment debt which was not paid in full by Dec. 31, 2022, will have the outstanding balance reported as income on their 2023 W-2 per IRS rules. Any debt payments received between Dec. 20 and Dec. 31, 2023, may result in a Form W-2-c being issued at a later date.

Please note: It is not an Internal Revenue Service requirement that the mailing address on the W-2 match the employee’s current residential mailing address.

If your 2023 W-2 is not available in EPP
It may be one of the W-2’s that are in suspense and requires NFC to review the W-2 before being released to an employee.

Employees do not need to take any action if their W-2 is in suspense. Starting Jan. 10, 2024, NFC will release W-2s that are in suspense and will be mailed and available in EPP.

If you do not receive a W-2 by Feb. 1, 2024
Please open a case with HRM to inquire about the status of your W-2.
