HRM: New remote work code

A new remote work time and attendance code is available. Please review the information below to make sure that you and your employees are coding your timesheets correctly for telework and remote work, and that you have approved telework agreements or remote work agreements in place.
New Time and Attendance Coding for Remote Work
There is a new descriptor code available in Paycheck8 for remote employees to use when completing their timesheets. Employees working under remote work arrangements are required to start coding their time using the new descriptor code beginning pay period 21 (For remote work, use transaction code 01 with descriptor code 39).
Paycheck8 Codes
- Telework:
- For routine (regularly scheduled) telework: Use transaction code 01 with descriptor code 11.
- For situational (unscheduled) telework: Use transaction code 01 with descriptor code 17.
- Remote work (for employees on approved remote work agreements): Use transaction code 01 with descriptor code 39.
What Supervisors Need to Do
- Check that employees are aware of and are coding their timesheets to correctly reflect time they are teleworking, or if they are remote employees, that they are using the new descriptor code 39 to code.
- Check that your employees have either an approved telework notification/agreement, or for those who are in approved remote positions, a remote work agreement in place. To check the status of approved agreements for your employees, log in to ConnectHR and find the telework/remote agreement link in the “My Links” menu on the left. Under the “My Employees” tab, the status for your employees will show as “Approved” if they have an approved telework or remote work agreement. If not, under the “My Employees” tab, you can initiate a new telework or remote agreement or complete the required actions to complete agreements that have already been initiated.
What Employees Need to Do
Use the appropriate descriptor codes and transactions codes on your timesheets as described above.
If you are eligible, after your supervisor starts a new Telework Agreement or Remote Work Agreement, you will receive an email with a link to the agreement and instructions for you to complete your part.
You can also visit ConnectHR and select the Telework/Remote Agreement link to send a reminder to your supervisor, check the status or complete any required actions.
