USDA: Last call for Future of Work survey

November 8, 2022

USDA seal (new 2022)

Dear USDA Colleagues,

At USDA we are committed to building a workplace that supports and invests in our workforce. Over the last year we have continued to learn about the experiences of our employees and have been working to address challenges and lift up recommendations and ideas that will help USDA truly become the People’s Department and a best place to work. You recently received an invitation to share your perspectives and vision for the “Future of Work” at USDA. This survey adds data to our findings from the 2021 telework survey and complements the FEVS findings. The additional data enables the secretary, deputy secretary and the leadership team to make thoughtful, fair and inclusive decisions.

If you have not had a chance to respond yet, we would love to hear from you via our survey, which should take approximately 15 to 30 minutes to complete. Any information you provide is anonymous. We’ve extended the survey deadline to Thursday, Nov. 10.

Your voice matters. We encourage you to think about the factors that impact your job, including workplace flexibilities, considerations for work-life-balance and training opportunities. You can also use the open comment questions to provide specific feedback to the department on additional ideas you may have for the future. We are committed to working with employees to thoughtfully consider all factors that impact your work while continuing to meet USDA’s mission.

Thank you for all that you do for USDA, and for serving millions of people around the country and the world who rely on USDA’s programs and services.

Thank you,

Oscar Gonzales
Assistant Secretary for Administration
U.S. Department of Agriculture
