Soai Talbot passed away June 11, 2021, in Susanville, California. He was a staple on the Lassen National Forest, where he began his career in 1990 working in wildlife on the Eagle Lake Ranger District.

He held many positions, including working on an engine crew, a Lassen hotshot, timber resource crew, recreation technician and special uses administrator.

He was proud of the many significant contributions he made as a Forest Service employee. His friends and co-workers will miss his infectious laugh, sense of humor, and how you were only a stranger to him once.

Talbot leaves behind his wife, two children, son-in-law Chase, and grandson. He will be flown back home to Palau, Micronesia, to his final resting place in his family's plot.
