Be an ambassador for change: This is Who We Are workshops, refreshers
WASHINGTON, D.C.—Do you want to help create change in the agency? Become a peer ambassador to strengthen the ties of This is Who We Are content to mission delivery and integrate it into the fabric of our operations. Ambassador spots are open to employees nationwide.
From 2019 to 2023, we focused on foundational This is Who We Are conversations with more than 34,000 employees nationwide. These conversations were led by peer ambassadors. In fiscal year 2024, we are furthering our commitment to being a values-based, purpose-driven and relationship-focused agency by recruiting additional ambassadors.
Both new ambassadors and those seeking a refresher will be equipped to deliver powerful learning engagements based on their experiences (e.g., New Employee Orientation, Line Officer Academy, New Supervisor Program and more), build practical tools and foster accountability in our culture. To best reflect our workforce, we are seeking a diverse group of candidates, from engine captains to financial analysts, visitor information assistants to district rangers, and every position in between to be leaders in this work.
FY24 ambassador workshops and refreshers will be held in the following locations and dates:
Feb. 27-29: Sacramento, California (Foundations + Advanced modules)
March 19-21: Virtual (Foundations modules only)
April 2-4: Wilmington, Illinois (Foundations + Advanced modules)
April 23-25: Virtual (Foundations modules only)
There will be 50-60 spots available for each session. Trained ambassadors can expect to join a vibrant community of practice with regular support, ongoing conversations, and peer sharing across the nation.
Once trained, ambassadors can expect a time investment of support for two to four in-person and/or virtual employee events per year as well as living who we are in organic, everyday efforts in their current teams and units. Financial support for travel to these workshops and other events will be provided by home units. Interested employees, with supervisor approval, should respond to the following form no later than close of business Jan. 26, 2024. Contact Holly Krake, WEPO This is Who We Are senior advisor, for additional information.
