Conflict Resolution Day event: What picture are you seeing?

WASHINGTON, D.C. — The Forest Service’s Conflict Management and Prevention Center hosts an annual agency-wide event promoting the awareness of alternative dispute resolution efforts. This year’s theme is “What Picture Are You Seeing?” and all employees are cordially invited to attend on Oct. 17 at 1:00 p.m. ET via Zoom.
Keynote speakers for 2024 are Dr. Ken Cloke and Dr. Joan Goldsmith. Together their individual and collective works reflect the mission and success of the CMPC program and—the goal of the day—to celebrate and promote the awareness of creative and peaceful methods of resolving conflict.
Dr. Cloke is the director of the Center for Dispute Resolution and a mediator, arbitrator, consultant and trainer, specializing in resolving complex multi-party conflicts internationally and in designing conflict resolution systems for organizations. He is a nationally recognized speaker and leader in the field of conflict resolution and a published author of many books and journal articles. He co-founded of Mediators Beyond Borders.
Dr. Goldsmith has been an organizational consultant, coach and educator for the past thirty-five years, specializing in leadership development, organizational change, conflict resolution and team building. She has authored several books on leadership including (with Warren Bennis) Learning to Lead, and Women Leaders at the Grassroots: 9 Stories and 9 Strategies.
