WASHINGTON, D.C.—Range managers are overwhelmed with daily duties and do not have the time to use, let alone research, the latest tools or technologies that have the potential to improve day-to-day operations. To help range managers understand and access the dozens of products available to support their work, Research and Development is hosting a “Rangeland Technology Summit” April 5-7, 2021.

During half-day sessions, organizers will unveil and explain about 40 technologies that are ready for land managers to use. Each day, developers will briefly introduce their technologies in a series of lightning-style talks (five minutes per piece of technology).

Participating rangeland managers can select three to five technologies to learn more about in longer 20-minute sessions. During these longer sessions, an expert who uses or developed the selected technology will deliver a deep dive presentation and answer questions.

USFS rangeland managers may register to attend the Rangeland Technology Summit via this form. Registration closes March 12, 2021. Spots are limited and priority will be given to agency rangeland managers.
