WASHINGTON, D.C.—The Forest Service is now selling electronic permits online. The e-permit site is now live and selling charge use firewood permits for five forests:

• Grand Mesa, Uncompahgre and Gunnison National Forests, Rocky Mountain Region (Region 2)

• Shoshone National Forest, Rocky Mountain Region

• George Washington & Jefferson National Forests, Southern Region (Region 8)

• Chattahoochee-Oconee National Forest, Southern Region

• Hiawatha National Forest, Eastern Region (Region 9)

These forests will be testing this new system and helping us ensure the system works smoothly. We look forward to expanding the participating forests and the type of special forest product permits offered for purchase online.
