WASHINGTON, D.C. – Every holiday season, Forest Service Job Corp Centers are home for hundreds of students experiencing homelessness. You can make a difference in a student’s life by sending a holiday card and/or care package. Below is a list of the most requested items that you can mail to any of the Job Corps Centers using the addresses shared below. Your generosity and kindness can help a student in need and provide inspiration to those who need it.

If you plan to participate in this project, please send holiday cards and care packages no later than Saturday, Dec. 18.  This will ensure students receive the items in time for the holidays.

Most Requested Items and you can also send other items as well:

• Blankets, beanies, gloves, socks (size 6-12 in the multi-pair packs), masks - all in dark colors.
• Hand and, or feet warmers
• Toiletries: shower gel, toothpaste, toothbrushes, deodorant, disposable razors, shaving cream, brushes, combs, shampoo, and conditioner (coconut oil based are always preferred), nail clippers, tweezers, Chapstick or mini jars of Vaseline
• Bags or totes (backpack style or the simple draw-string style are popular), Duffle or gym bags (not too big, overnight size)
• Plug-in power cords for phones and chargers
• Earplugs
• Earbuds (in ear) for listening to music
• Headphones (over the ear) for gaming or doing schoolwork
• Instant hot chocolate packets, gum, hard candies, cracker packs, granola bars, single serve of Instant Macaroni and Cheese, soups.
• Gift cards - Starbucks, Walmart, Target, Amazon, Straight Talk phone cards
• Wallets
• Reusable travel mugs
• Books
• Puzzles, card games, board games, activity books
• Paper, pens, envelopes, stamps
• DVD’s
