WASHINGTON, DC—Forest Service leadership and employees joined together April 19 to honor and celebrate the winners of the 2022 Engineer of the Year Awards. These are national-level awards that recognize the outstanding contributions these individuals have made to our engineering program and to the agency. Associate Chief Angela Coleman presented the plaques to this year’s winners in a ceremony hosted by Director Ehab Hanna, Engineering.

The four winners were:

  • Managerial Engineer of the Year
    • Sheila Cross, program manager, Facilities/Center for Design & Interpretation Programs Manager, Rocky Mountain Region, Lakewood, CO
  • Technical Architect/Engineer of the Year
    • Christine Shope, regional architect, Southern Region, Atlanta, GA
  • Engineering Technician of the Year
    • Clifford Lewis, civil engineering technician, Flathead National Forest, Northern Region
  • Technology Applications Employee of the Year
    • Jennifer Frazer, geospatial systems specialist/WebGIS/mobile, Northern Region, Engineering, Fleet & Geospatial
