Your Fees at Work on the California National Forests
National Forests in California are using recreation fee revenues to improve and enhance recreation opportunities. The majority of the recreation fees collected stay on the forest and go right back into operating, maintaining and improving the recreational opportunities visitors use and value the most—campgrounds, developed day use sites, boat ramps, trails, rental cabins and lookouts, and much more. Funds are also used to provide enhanced services such as interpretive programs, visitor information, and transportation systems.
R5 Recreation Resource Advisory Committee
The Pacific Southwest Region Recreation Resource Advisory Committee (RRAC) is a citizen's Federal Advisory Committee that provides recommendations on creating new or changing existing recreation fees managed by the Forest Service in the Pacific Southwest Region. Pacific Southwest Region RRAC is comprised of 11 members as authorized under the Federal Lands Recreation Enhancement Act (REA), which was signed in to law in December of 2004.
