Cascade Observation Site

Located on Pikes Peak Highway. There are view finders available to overlook the town of Cascade.

Colorado Campground

This family-oriented campground has 80 campsites with parking areas up to 30 ft. long. Picnic tables, fire grates, water, and trash collection are available. There is also an amphitheater. This is a standard, non-electric site.

Crags Trailhead #664

Crags Trail to "The Crags" Foot, horse, and cross-country ski trail. This trail is a moderately difficult 2.1 mile trail with an elevation change of 800 feet. Crags Trail leads to a group of rock pinnacle formations. It is used for cross country skiing and snow shoeing in the winter. No camping or campfires are allowed on either side of Forest Service Road 383, except in the Crags Developed Campground.…

A picnic ground located 3 miles up Pikes Peak Highway.

Dikeside Boating Site

This boating site is located on Rampart Reservoir. Swimming, wading, and all body contact with the water in the reservoir is prohibited. Coast guard approved life jackets are required for every person onboard every watercraft, including kayaks, paddleboards and canoes.

Halfway Picnic Area

Picnic area located almost ten miles from the start of Pikes Peak Highway.

Homestake Fishing Site

This site has interpretive exhibits, fishing access, and affords a good view of Pikes Peak. Swimming, wading, and all body contact with the water in the reservoir is prohibited. Coast guard approved life jackets are required for every person onboard every watercraft, including kayaks, paddleboards and canoes.

Manitou Lake Picnic Area

Manitou Lake is a 5-acre reservoir where the entire family can enjoy fishing and hiking Trail #670 around the lake. Due to easy area access and popularity, fishing occurs year-round in the reservoir. All sites have tables, fire grates, and trash collection. Swimming, wading, and all body contact with the water in the reservoir is prohibited. Meadow Ridge Campground

Meadow Ridge Campground has 19 campsites with parking areas at least 30 ft. long at 9,200 ft. elevation. Sites 12 and 13 are accessible sites. Most other sites have steps to table and fire ring area. Nichols Reservoir

The trail to Nichols Reservoir begins at the Dikeside Boatramp parking lot. It is a 0.8 mile hike down to Nichols Reservoir and back up. Swimming, wading, and all body contact with the water in the reservoir is prohibited. All watercraft on Nichols Reservoir is prohibited.

Painted Rocks Campground

This rustic campground is located approximately seven miles north of Woodland Park at 7,800 ft. elevation and has 18 campsites with parking areas up to 30 ft. Each site has a picnic table and fire ring. There is drinking water available in the campground, as well as trash dumpsters and vault toilets. Pike Community Group Campground

This campground has a capacity for 100 people and provides picnic tables, group fire grates, drinking water, a campfire circle, trash dumpsters, vault toilets, a children's play area, a sand volleyball court, a softball field, and horseshoe pits. The Centennial Trail is located across Highway 67 and can be used to access Manitou Lack Picnic area.

Red Rocks Group Campground

This rustic group site is located in a ponderosa pine forest approximately 1/2 mile off Highway 67 north of Woodland Park. Hiking is the main attraction. The Red Rocks Trail #612 leads to nearby unusual and scenic red sandstone formation.

South Meadows Campground

This campground is located approximately 5 miles north of Woodland Park. There are paved roads within the campground connecting the 64 sites. Each site has a fire ring and picnic table. This campground is adjacent to the Centennial Trail, a paved trail between Manitou Lake and the town of Woodland Park.    Reservations are recommended between Memorial Day and Labor Day. During peak season, this…

Springdale Campground

This campground is located 1.7 miles east of Woodland Park on Rampart Range Road 300. This campground has 13 sites. This is a standard, non-electric campground. Firewood, shelter, and water are not provided.

Crags Campground

The Crags campground has 17 sites for tents, small RVs, or small trailers. The access to the campground is from a narrow, winding and rough dirt road, which may not be suitable for large trailers. Thunder Ridge Campground

Thunder Ridge Campground has 21 campsites with parking areas that are at least 30'. Sites 7, 8, and 21 are accessible. Angel of Shavano Campground

This campground is ideally suited for tent camping. The campsites are wooded with aspen and spruce trees along the north fork of the south Arkansas River.  Dispersed camping spots may be found along 4x4 road (240) between Angel of Shavano and North Fork campgrounds.  

Angel of Shavano Group Area

This group campground is located near the Angel of Shavano campground and adjacent to the creek. Volleyball, softball, and a horseshoe pit are available. Visitors must bring their own equipment including volleyball net, baseball equipment and horseshoes. Colorado Trail #1776 (Angel of Shavano Trailhead)

The Angel of Shavano trailhead serves as major trailhead along the Colorado Trail (#1776) which stretches from Denver to Durango, Colorado. The trailhead is located about 9 miles west of Salida.

Colorado Trail #1776 (Avalanche Trailhead)

The Avalanche trailhead is a major access point for the Colorado Trail (#1776) near Buena Vista, Colorado. A paved parking area and toilet facility are available. This is a popular trailhead for winter recreationists and provides ample parking for the many snowmobilers who converge on the area. Baldwin Lake

Baldwin Lake is a small alpine lake located to the west of Mount Antero (14,269 ft). The lake is home to native Cutthroat trout. The road to Baldwin Lake is usually "snow-free" from June until October.

Rainbow Trail (#1336) at Bear Creek trailhead

This trailhead is located east of Salida, off of County Road 101 and accesses the Rainbow Trail (#1336) which travels east from the Poncha Springs area along the base of the Sangre de Cristo mountain range. Cascade Campground

The Chalk Creek Canyon is one of the valley's most popular areas. Camping and campfires are restricted in the Chalk Creek Canyon to developed campgrounds only. Campers who are unable to find a campsite in one of the four developed campground may camp above the townsite of St. Elmo on County Road 267 or near the Hancock townsite located 5 miles south on Forest Road 295.
