It provides information so that you can become aware of and indicate your interest in specific proposals. We encourage your early and ongoing involvement in any proposals of interest to you.

Preparing an supplemental analysis for the Fleecer Mountains Project under the US District Court, District of Montana 2013 Court Order. Documents will be available on this site when completed.

Non-commercial treatment of 21 units from 1 to 102 acres to improve helath and viability of aspen clones by falling encroaching conifers.

This project proposes treatment of 507 acres of conifer encroachment to improve health and viability of aspen clones comprising 21 units of 2 to 56 acres.

Planting 6300 white bark pine seedlings in dry sites on 45 acres in the Mussigbrod burn of 2000 to increase weak whitebark pine regeneration. No mechanized equipment will be used and woody debris will be used to shade the seedlings.

This proposal would authorized planting 12,500 Whitebark pine (WBP)seedlings in a former WBP dominated site where the species is not coming back as well as predicted after the Mussigbrod Fire in 2000. Planting would take place in May or June.

Permits for 2022 commercial mushroom harvesting and designated camp areas for commercial harvesters for resource protection and sanitation.

3 Rivers Communications proposes to bury fiber optic cable along the shoulder of existing roads to replace the existng underground copper telephone wire near Melrose, MT. The project involves approximately 8,485 feet across Forest Service Lands.

Reduce Hazardous fuels and the risk of loss to infrastructure on the Anaconda Job Corps site. 660 acres of commercial thinning, cutting of dead and dying, slashing and burning of small diameter trees within conifer and grassland stands.

We propose development of eight springs and installation 1.5 miles of fence in two sections on the Andrus Allotment to help distribute cattle and allow the permit holder the flexibility to meet allowable use levels on streams in the allotment.

This project proposes to develop 10 springs, construct two drift fences totaling 1.5 miles of fence on the allotments, and install a hardened water crossing at the fence line's water gap on Bailey Creek.

Proposal to install a water storage tank to increase the efficiency of the current stock water pipeline, converting the majority of the pipeline to a gravity run system instead of a electric pump driven system.

Based on geological indicators, 12 specific sites would be core drilled to determine if a mineral ore body exists. The results of this exploration would determine whether additional drilling, to define the ore body, would be needed.

This proposal is for a multifaceted treatment to enhance aspen and large diameter Douglas-fir trees on the Cliff Lake Bench. area encompasses approximately 150 acres.

Project is proposed to reissue an existing special use permit.

Analysis of a permit for up to nine test sampling pits south of Aurora Creek in sample pit sites tested in the 70-80s. Testing would involve a rubber tired backhoe and a portable wash plant plant. Water will be returned to the source pit to settle.

Activities to enhance shrub and grassland dependent wildlife habitat and to improve upland vegetation and composition in the project area by using prescribed fire.

This proposal will provide a separate non-motorized loop opportunity starting near the Baldwin Park Trailhead, a route will be marked from the Baldwin Park Trail #6424 to an old abandoned trail on the north side of North Meadow Creek.

This project is proposed to evaluate impacts and feasibility of thinning non-merchantable conifers on approximately 75 out of 380 acres near Barker Lakes in an old burn area where conifers are crowding out whitebark pine and quaking aspen.

This proposal would authorized a private road special use permit to Louis Bartolleti for access across approximately 350 feet of National Forest System lands on an existing road in the Bear Gulch area.

The project is to protect the Basin Creek Municipal Watershed by restoring and improving the characteristics of forest composition and structure to help reduce the risk of uncharacteristic wildfire effects.

The proposal is to do exploration digging into collapsed tunnels using a mini excavator, skid-steer and posthole digger (1-3 person crew). A trommel would be used to investigation diggings. Reclamation of all areas will be done upon completion.

The project is to improve existing water sources for livestock aiming to encourage pasture utilization. The spring within the site has been drying out for years, resulting in livestock concentrating in riparian areas.

The project is to provide reasonable access to a landlocked parcel owned by Fred Beal. The road will provide a route across forest land for the landowner to construct a cabin on private land and provide motorized access.

Issue a term private road special use permit to use and maintain an existing non-system road on 60 feet of NFS land, to access private land,just off State Highway 2, approximately 17 miles west of Whitehall.

We propose to complete maintenance and construction along approximately 6.6 miles of trail from Forest Service road #556. About 4.6 miles of new trail construction will replace steep eroded sections and move away from creeks and wet areas

The proposal would issue a special use permit to authorize structures on National Forest System Lands that have been in place for over 20 years. They include fences, a water diversion ditch, well, and buried water and electrical lines.

The proposal is to issue a permit for continued use of a solar repeater site for Beaverhead County on top of Table Mountain, a designated electronic site, for Beaverhead County use for work and emergency services communication

Construction of underground power and fiber optic lines to the Wise River Radio Site. Installation of VHF antennae and associated equipment for enhancing 911 services for Beaverhead County.

The Dillon District Ranger is considering a proposal from the Beaverhead SnoRiders to authorize grooming of several existing roads and trails for snowmobile use. Routes are proposed in areas allocated to winter motorized use in the Forest Plan.

We propose to install a fish barrier to support MTFWP work to restore westslope cutthroat trout. It is in the Big Hole River drainage.

The Discovery Ski Team proposes to bury 3000 feet of cable for electronic timing equipment for nationally sanctioned ski races. The computer network cable would be encased in 1 inch conduit bured 6 inches underground by a ditchwitch.

We propose to construct fish barriers on Browns Creek and Buffalo Creek to protect and conserve two important populations of Westslope Cutthroat Trout.

Renewal of ten year Special Use Permit for Priority Use Outfitting and Guiding

New owners propose to install a 1500 gal underground gray water storage tank, drill a new water well, and build a utility shed in the existing footprint of the special used permit for the residencde.

Vegetation management treatments to meet Forest Plan desired conditions including removing encroaching conifers in Sagebrush, Aspen, Mountain Mahogany, thinning Douglas-fir, daylighting Whitebark Pine.

This project is proposed to Improve health and viability of aspen clones and mountain mahogany by removing colonizing conifers on 415 acres with 17 quaking aspen treatment units from 3 to 76 acres and one 106 acre mountain mahogany unit.

Proposal to authorize the BLM to install a permanent repeater under a special use permit at the Black Pine Ridge site which is authorized under the Beaverhead-Deerlodge Forest Plan.

Upgrading existing telecommunications lines to fiber optic. Includes issuance of a special use permit authorizing the installation, operation, and maintenance of 126,480 linear feet of fiber optic cable within a 10 ft. corridor.

The project proposes Blackfoot Telephone Cooperative (BTC) to obtain an amendment to PIN21007 special use permit, for Phase 3, to plow/bury fiber optic cables from Echo Lake to the top of Discovery Ski Basin, Rumsey Mountain Communication Site.

Authorization to bury fiber optic cables parallel to existing roads which travel through NFS lands on the Beaverhead-Deerlodge National Forest, Pintler Ranger District to provide broadband internet services to the community.

Thin Douglas-fir stands, hand fall encroaching conifers in and around aspen clones, meadows and sagebrush parks. Prescribed burn upland forest stands with pre-treatment (slash/fell conifers) along private boundaries

This project involves one 25 acre designated areas for post and pole cutting. Permit holders would be allowed to drive to the area and cut post and pole sized trees with a chainsaw and pile the slash for the Forests Service to burn when appropriate.

The purpose of the project is to increase the resiliency of the area to insect and disease infestations and reduce the risk of wildfire to local communities and surrounding lands (federal, state and private).

Upgrading and expanding a developed camp ground and some dispersed camp sites

Salvage by clearcut regeneration harvest, and conduct biomass removal, commercial thinning, prescribed fire, and quaking aspen restoration on 24,939 acres (346 units) of Beaverhead-Deerlodge National Forest System Lands north of Whitehall, MT.

Proposal to install an amateur radio repeater adjacent to the existing equipment at the Donald R. Communication Site, currently occupied by Quest Corporation.

Project was cancelled because the same project (#46464) already exists on the SOPA. Those interested in information related to this project, should refer to project ID # 46464.

We propose to extend the existing fence about 1100 feet with wildlife friendly barbed wire fence to keep livestock from trailing back and forth between pastures. If the initial route doesn't work we will add the second extension shown on the map.

The proposal will relocate and reconstruct fences resulting in the removal of 4000 ft of buck and wire or 4-strand barbed wire femce in the Elkhorn Wildlife Management Area and replacing it with 2400 ft of 3-strand wildlife friendly fence.

Drought conditions demonstrate the need for improved developed livestock water sources in the Browns Canyon allotment to make livestock management work better for livestock distribution to benefit vegetation.

We propose to construct a wooden fish barrier along Bryant Creek to expand and protect Westslope Cutthroat Trout habitat by 13 miles within the Bryant Creek watershed.

Binon Engineering/GMM propose to excavate 4 to 7exploration holes in order to physically identify and sample the geological anomalies indicated by previous exploration and geophysical surveys.

This project proposes development of four springs on the Bull Creek Grazing Allotment in order to better distribute cattle and grazing use which will allow the permittee more flexibility to meet allowable use levels.

This proposal would permit water collection from the spring on NFS thru 150 ft. of perforated pipe surrounded by washed gravel to a point of use on private land. Water rights will remain with the USFS as long the private landowner hold the SUP.

Selective slashing or burning of non-merchantable conifers encroaching into sage/grass communities to restore forage production for wildlife on 5,010 acres on the Bull Mountain Game Range. Project involves no road building or commercial harvest.

Butte Highlands JV, LLC of Butte, Montana has submitted a Plan of Operations (POO) to use National Forest System roads for activities that are incidental to their mining operations on private land.

Authorization of the Butte 100 mountain bike race from Homestake Pass to Pipestone Pass and Wulf's run, a marathon event that starts at Homestake Pass. Both races are planned for July.

Review of authorization of two five-year term special use permits for the annual Elk Park Snowmobile Fun Run and the annual Mining City Trail Riders ATV Fun Run. A one year permit is proposed for the Butte Police Protection Association ATV Fun Run.

This proposal involves authorization of two 5-year term permits and one temporary permit for three non-motorized recreation events under one decision. The events are for runners, horse riders, and mountainbikes as described in the scoping document.

The project would address public safety for CDNST users for safe ingress/egress at Pipestone Pass. The Proposed Action would construct a new trailhead approximately 1,000 feet east of the current location for 10 vehicles and 4 truck/trailers.

The California Creek Placer Test is designed to sample a cross-section at regular intervals across the mineral deposit. The claimant plans to dig 22 holes during this operation. Each test hole will be 5ft wide, 10ft long, and 3ft to 5ft deep.

This proposal would repair stretches of Harris and California creeks damaged by ATVs & 4x4s with onsite native materials and hand scarification of rutted areas. Onsite material would be used to improve stream habitat condition in affected reaches.

US Tungsten Corporation would like to drill six to nine exploration core holes using a track-mounted drilling rig. The purpose of proposed core drilling would be to determine if there is a minable deposit of tungsten remaining at the historical site.

US Tungsten Corp proposes 6 to 9 core holes with a track-mounted drill rig to determine if a minable deposit of tungsten remains at the site. Holes would range from about 250 to 500 feet deep and drill pads would be placed for minimal disturbance.

This project proposes to rebuild the rental cabin in the Snowcrest Mountain Range that burned down in the fall of 2019.

Relocation and construction of 1600 ft. of new trail, maintenance and tread work on restoration on 1420 ft. of existing trail, obliteration of 1590 ft. of old trail, installation of a 30 ft. rock turnpike, and hardening of one stream crossing.

This project would authorize a new 20-year term special use permit for the use of the Carroll Hill Spring to the new owners of the Bull Creek Ranch. No ground disturbing activities or additional structures are proposed.

Mine dumps and waste rock from mine sites will be hauled to a processing site on private land. All transportation on public land would be under permit on existing open routes on the BDNF and BLM. This project will be done in a single field season.

Construct a 1/2 mile reroute of Bear Gulch Trail #2089 so people can safely access Cherry Creek Trail #2123.

This proposal is to reroute sections of three ATV Trails in order to reduce grades, improve trail utility, enhance public safety, and reduce resource impacts associated with poor drainage on steep slopes causing rutting and erosion.

Remove hazard trees over the course of 10 years, to reduce the risk posed to skiers and hikers on this trail system (over 7000 visitors annually) by commercial means if possible. Force account or service contracts will be employed otherwise.

Project would re-shaping the existing road prism on the old log hauling routes used as ski trails and dig stumps on approximately 32 kilometers of cross country ski trails and construct a connector trail between Moose and Sentinel Meadow trails.

The Forest Service received a Plan of Operation to explore for minerals on unpatented mining claims located in T8N, R12W, section 11 approximately 16 miles northwest of Deer Lodge, Montana in the Master Mine area.

Hand cut or burn conifers seedlings and saplings expanding into 11 units in Christiansen Creek as displayed in the Project Area Map in order to move conditions toward forest plan vegetation goals.

This project is proposed to issue a new 10 year Livestock Area Special Use Permit to the new owner of the Circle S Ranch.

This project would authorize the Bureau of Reclamation to excavate a trench 100 by 5 feet, up to 8 feet deep in order define fault rupture lengths, fault activity rates, and locations near Clark Canyon Dam.

Clementine Exploration LLC Proposes to core drill(2 holes one location) and access for continuing geological work on the Clementine Exploration LLC mining claims. The project is estimated to take 10 days to complete.

The Madison Ranger District on the Beaverhead-Deerlodge National Forest (BDNF) is proposing to expand two parking areas and create a safe and functional day use area at the Cliff Lake Day Use/Boat Launch site.

The Forest Service proposes to create safe functional parking and traffic flow as well as a centralized host site to allow for effective recreation site management at Cliff Lake and Wade Lake.

This project involves maintenance and construction to repair eroded sections of motorized trail on 8 miles of existing trail between Mill Canyon and Brownback Gulch Trailheads in the North Tobacco Root Mountains..

Tom Collins of Missoula has submitted a Plan of Operations (POO) to build an access road across National Forest System (NFS) lands to explore for minerals on his patented mining claim (private land).

Transfer a temporary permits to a Transitional Permit for up to 2 years. If performance is satisfactory, a Prioirty permit may be issued for 8 years. No changes are proposed for this Transitional permit

For the section of CDT between Gibbons Pass north to the Anaconda Pintler boundary. Trail reconstruction and relocation. Previously listed as Continental Divide National Scenic Trail Travel Management.(18720 -Shultz Saddle East incorporated)

We propose to construct approximately 10 miles of new, non-motorized trail, to connect the existing Continental Divide National Scenic Trail along the East Ridge to the Nez Perce Trail #4092.

Construction of new trail and reconstruction of existing trail, about 18 miles total.

Installation of developed recreation site infrastructure including designating individual campsites, signs, hardened parking areas, picnic tables, toilets, and kiosks. The project area is currently being used as an overflow camping area.

The proposed action would authorize Mr. Nelson to placer mine a pile of material that measures approximately 20 feet wide, 40 feet long and 10 feet high.

Conveyance of an isolated tract of 0.72 acres of NFS lands under the Small Tracts Act of January 12, 1983, as amended. The tract is an isolated mineral fraction surrounded by private located in the Tobacco Root Mountains near the town of Mammoth.

Salvage dead, dying and insect damaged tress (primarily Douglas-fir) in the West Fork Madison area. Yarding would be done by helicopter to existing road system.

This project is intended to remove all conifers and slash (except limber pine) from the understory in identified whitebark pine stands in order to reduce competition and increase sunlight so that the WBP reproduces fully and faster.

We propose to relocate and construct about a half mile of the trail in to replace three sections that do not meet Forest Service design standards.

Install grade control structures on each side of an exising creek crossing. Lower the banks to a 1:4 grade and spread cobble and gravel on the approaches to stabilize soil. Install a jackleg fence to keep cows from walking up or down the creek.

Install a headbox and 1.5 inch pipeline to two water troughs located on ridges in the Pole Long Creek C&H Allotment to water the cattle away from the creek in order to reduce impacts

Proposal to replace the crossing of Forest Service Road 381 over Darkhorse Creek to improve stream habitat, fish passage, public safety, and infrastructure resilience.

West of the lake, construct and reestablish apx 3/4 mile of trail from 20% to an 8 to 12 % grade using switchbacks and climbing turns. The same is planned east of the lake for 3 1/2 miles.

This project proposes to issue a Private Road Special Use Permit authorizing new land owners to access their private property. It includes basic maintenance to FS standards for resource protection.

NEPA analysis for designating wheeled motorized use on the Dillon, Wisdom and Wise River ranger districts of the Beaverhead-Deerlodge NF.

Complete projects in the ski area permit boundary for public safety improvements for the main road, parking, trails, and chairlift operations. It will also install underground power lines for chairlift operation and equipment maintenance

This proposal is to approve a ski area permit amendment allowing construction of three emergency evacuation trails on the north side in case of lift breakdown. It would also allow construction of a new Discovery Ski Education Foundation building.

Project proposed to reduce steep sections of trail and address public safety concerns and reduce sedimentation in a fish key watershed by moving the trail away from the stream. The replaced sections of original tread would be obliterated.

We propose to enhance an existing natural barrier on North Divide Creek to preclude brook trout from passing upstream where they could hybridize a population of westslope cutthroat trout. Fish will be marked and moved to test for success.

Project proposes a special use permit authorizing Joseph Morris to maintain a domestic waterline from Squaw Creek to his private land. The 1.4 pvc pife is inplace for 150 ft across NFS. The permit will include fencing at the point of diversion.

Propose to install a fish barrier on Doolittle Creek to support MTFWP work to restore westslope cutthroat trout. The project is in the Big Hole River drainage.

This project is to construct about 2,280 ft. of non-motorized trail parallel to the road from the Eagles Nest Trailhead to the picnic area. The trail will provide a safer route for bikers, hikers, and horseback riders who currently use the road.

Purpose is to achieve Forest Plan Goals including Timber management, Aquatic Improvement, Wildlife Habitat improvement. Proposed activities include timber salvage, commercial thinning, sediment reduction, fish passage, road and trail decommissioning

This proposal is to reroute overly steep sections of trail in order to reduce erosion, improve trail safety, and utility. The project will relocate and construct approximately four miles of trail to replace approximately three

The purpose of this project is to restore a natural functioning wetland system to East Fork Divide Creek. Beaver analog structures will promote increased connectivity to the floodplain and groundwater storage, re-wetting the broad riparian corridor.

The Pintler Ranger District proposes to issue a special use permit to DNRC for the construction of a vertical fixed panel fish screen designed to accommodate a 200 cfs flow.

The project involves maintenance and reconstruction of the dam within footprint of a special use designation.Activities include removal and replacement of spillway and building a new bridge across spillway, including a short re-route of FSR 5141.

Proposal includes 900 acres of treatment on Forest Service land to reduce conifer encroachment in sagebrush/grasslands using chainsaws and prescribed fire. Treatment areas include Forest Service and Bureau of Land Management Dillon Field Office lands

Development of three new groomed routes within the Echo Lake Basin Nordic trail system to enhance winter non-motorized recreation by providing additional loop opportunities for cross-country skiers.

We propose to create safer winter parking in a cleared area near the Echo Lake Cross Country Ski Trails. We would clear debris in the parking space and the quarter mile connection to the ski trail system.

Approving a term special use permit for a Ski Trail Warming Hut at Midway Parking area on the Echo Lake Cross-Country Ski Trail System.

Proposal is to permit full size vehicle access to private land inholdings in the North Meadow Creek Drainage. Landowner would pay the cost of improvements required on portions of the trail.

The proposal involves removing waste rock and ore piles. A trench will be excavated to test ore potential.Equipment would be staged at a previously disturbed area.

Remove the existing tower and base at the Emerine Lookout and install a new 6’ x ‘ x 8’ steel radio shelter 100 ft west of the Emerine Lookout Cabin.

Whitebark pine seedlings will be planted in 2015 contingent upon snow conditions and access at elevation ranges from 8060 to 9260 feet in the Eureka Fire Area. UTVs or ATVs will be used to transport the seedlings to planting areas.

Finley Mining Inc.proposes to drill 12 exploration holes using a track mounted drill rig that can be dismantled for use with a helicopter. If the 4 drill sites are encouraging then up to 6 more sites maybe drilled. Roads will not be constructed.

To construct a collection box along side the road with a fence around it protecting the area, and bury the water line along side and then under the road that will lead to a water trough approximately 100 feet on the other side of road 241.

The proposal is to make improvements to existing water developments located at Five Trough Spring, which would result in improved livestock distribution and water availability within the allotment.

The proposal would convey a 2.05 acre tract to Jeffery and Rebecca Nicholls under the Small Tract Act to resolve an unintentional mining trespass on NFS.

The project will install a collection mat and storage tank and plumb it into the existing water trough to help augment the water that is produced at the spring source.

This proposal includes redesign of campsites, replacement of all furniture, barriers, fire rings, and wooden valut toilets. Maintenance or repair of driving surfaces, relocation of some sites, and a new well with accessible hanpump are also included.

Supplemental analysis for the 2009 FEIS approving the Beaverhead-Deerlodge Forest Plan in response to a June 14, 2016 Court Order to disclose potential environmental affects from interagency MOUS dated 2002 and 2008 for a bighorn sheep transplant

Supplemental Analysis for Forest Plan EIS

Remove dead and dying trees that pose a hazard to the public in all Forest developed recreation sites across the Forest. A variety of methods for removal would be used including FS crews, contractors, and commercial timber sales depending on the site

Issuance of a private road special use permit authorizing the landowner to construct and use a road to access their private inholding. The route will be approximately 300 ft. long and 14 ft. in width and constructed to FS standards.

The Foster Creek Trail #8045 is a non-motorized Forest Service system trail located in the Flint Creek Range, north of the Anaconda Job Corps Center. The trail currently utilizes a stream ford of Foster Creek that is coincident with NFSR #195.

The Wise River Ranger District on the Beaverhead-Deerlodge National Forest (BDNF) is proposing stream restoration work in conjunction with Montana Fish Wildlife and Parks and Big Hole Watershed Committee

Michael Gehrke of Townsend Montana has submitted a Plan of Operations to explore for minerals on unpatented mining claims located approximately 6 miles northwest of Deer Lodge, Montana.

Proposal to issue a term special use permit to John and Donna George to continue use of a 650' x 10' water transmission line and spring box for domestic water use. This permit was issued to the George’s and has expired.

Big Sky Recreation seeks renewal of their special use authorization to operate and maintain campgrounds, developed sites, and facilities at Georgetown Lake. No changes to the operation, authorized facilities or increase in the scope are proposed.

Reduce hazardous fuels in urban interface around Georgetown and Echo Lakes; improve condition classes in areas outside urban interface. Prescribed fire treatments on 568 ac.; mechanical treatments on 997 ac.; 1.5 miles temporary road construction.

The Forest Service was a cooperating agency, assisting the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) in that Agency's geothermal leasing analysis and decision. The BLM issued a record of decision on 12/17/2008.

The Butte District proposes to re-issue a term special use authorization for a water transmission line in an area of 300 x 20 feet, with two collection boxes at the Girl Scout Camp, appx 5 miles south of Butte in Basin Creek.

Prescribed fire over multiple years on approximately 1,200 acres of NFS lands. The prescription would include low to moderate fire intensity but allow for small patches of high severity in order to achieve a mosaic effect on the landscape.

The project involves a plan of operations to explore for minerals on unpatented mining claims, digging four test pits approximately 7 miles northwest of Deer Lodge, Montana.

Relocate 2 miles of trail and restore 4 miles of existing trail along Gold Creek in the East Pioneers to meet the needs of hikers and stock users. Work includes rolling dips, switchbacks climbing turns, signs and rock blasting.

This project proposes to decommission an irrigation water system consisting of a diversion, ditch, flume and reservoir to resolve safety concerns and restore the natural water flow.

The Gunsinger Group proposes to core drill 8 exploration holes with a truck mounted drill rig and dig a 4 by 50 foot trench about 16 feet deep using a backhoe. Drill sites are about 800 feet from a County Road. No road construction is necessary.

Mining plan of operations at Goldschmidt Mine

Trail repair and 2 reroutes to rehabilitate burned sections of the Park Creek, Continental Divide National Scenic Trail and Eunice Creek Trails. Two rerouting will move the trail out of a waterlogged section onto a sideslope to prevent erosion.

The Dillon Ranger District on the Beaverhead-Deerlodge National Forest (BDNF) is proposing to plant whitebark pine seedlings on up to 364 acres within the 2018 Goldstone Fire perimeter.

The proponent proposes a phased exploration which includes core drilling to test for vein extension trend, opening existing protals for bulk sampling, conducting three placer tests and exploration work to remove old mine dumps for sampling.

The proposed project is to help restore and maintain the structure, function, composition and ecological connectivity of the forest system in order to increase resiliency to future natural disturbance events like wildfire, insects, and disease.

This proposal would authorize a private landowner for private road access across National Forest to private property under a special use permit. The permit includes basic road maintenance.

Guiding Light Land, LLC requests to construct and maintain a 0.13 mile private access road across National Forest System (NFS) lands to provide ingress and egress for the inholding.

Issuance of a private road special use permit authorizing the holder to use an existing road (UR8-265) to access a private inholding year-round. The permit would also authorize operation and maintenance of the road--a total of 751 ft.--on NFS lands.

The Happy Tails 2020 Plan of Operations is to remove existing tailings piles and recontour area to surrounding grade.

Proposal is to reopen a collapsed mine adit (approx 25 feet) to expose a mineral-bearing quartz vein. About 25-30 cubic yards of material would be removed and deposited at existing dump site. No new disturbance. No new road or trail construction.

Renew an expired Plan of Operationsfor a small-scale lode exploration program where an existing mine adit would be reopened using hand tools such as picks and shovels.

Exploration for minerals on unpatented mining claims including digging 5 test pits measuring 20ft x 50ft long to bedrock with an excavator. Access to the site would be via cross-country travel and include removal of trees to open 14' x 450' corridor.

This project would breach the Hill Reservoir Dam using explosives to create a V-shaped notch followed by hadwork to stabilize the banks and put the outlet back to the original stream channel grade. The reservoir is no longer used for water storage.

This project proposes the same work attempted in 2014 under a previous decision to breach the dam with explosives. It wasn't completed because of a constriction in the culvert. This revision of the proposal is to do the same work with an excavator.

Proposal to issue a Private Road Special Use Permit to Mike D. Hogan Jr. authorizing the operation and maintenance of an existing road crossing NFS land to access private property.

This proposal would authorize a Private Road Special Use Permit to Mike D. Hogan Jr. for the operation and maintenance of 115 feet of an existing paved road, north of the Red Bridge Boat Launch on Georgetown Lake.

Install a headbox on a spring in the Hogback Pasture of the Snowcrest Creek C&H allotment. Bury the pipline approximately 1/2 mile to the west to an existing trough and fence the spring out with barbed wire.

Project to issue new permit with construction of corral facilities to improve safety in trailing cattle between pastures.

Proposal to cut down non-merchantable conifers across 7 units, (600 acres) where they overtop aspen along the boundary between open sagebrush parks and lodge pole pine dominated forest. The proposal requires no road construction or commercial harvest

The proposal would ammend a special use permit issued to the Homestake Lodge owner to maintain and groom approximately 3.23 miles of cross country ski trail with a 10 foot wide groomer.

Proposal to permit installation of a new service line to Homestake Lodge under a 2-track route off Forest Road 240 that drops down to the Homestake Rest Area. Installers will bore under a wet area between the rest area and the 2-track to the lodge.

We propose to permit NorthWest Energyt to bury 3720 feet of powerline from the existing dip pole at the Homestake Rest area under the road bed to Homestake Lodge.

Salvage dead and dying lodgepole pine affected by mountain pine beetle on about 257 acres; maintain grass/shrub/aspen communities by slashing/burning encroaching conifers on about 593 acres; Lion Gulch riparian habitat and stream channel restoration

Proposal to relocate two segments of Homestake Trail #7071 in the Whitetail-Pipestone Area move it off of the the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad Tracks.

Gary and Sharon Howard have applied for a private road special use authorization to construct approximatel 150 yards of road from the Toll Mountain Road across NFS lands to their private land.

This proposal is to dig 6 to 10 test pits, approximately10 feet long, down to bedrock using a backhoe. The project will take about a week and prosepector will reclaim each hole after samples are taken.

Issuance of a special use permit authorizing construction and maintenance of a road 30 ft. wide and approximately 40 ft. long or 0.027 acres to provide access to a private landowner's inholding.

Apply carbaryl, verbenone, and MCH to lodgepole pine, ponderosa pine, whitebark pine (carbaryl and verbenone), and Douglas-fir (MCH) trees in recreation sites to prevent tree mortality from mountain pine and Doulgas-fir bark beetle attacks.

Jackson Park Ranches requests a private road special use permit authoriziing access on ¼ mile of two track on National Forest System (NFS) lands between two of their parcels. One parcel is completely surrounded by NFS lands.

This proposal would add a winter ski trail at Discovery Ski Area from the Sapphire to the Jubilee run in order to reduce conflict and congestion below the lodge. This route will be about 350 feet and require removal of about 100 trees.

The Kennecott Exploration Company submitted a Plan to the Forest Service proposing to explore for minerals on unpatented mining claims. The Phase 3 Exploration project proposes drilling a total of 36 exploration holes over a five-year period.

This project to decommission the Klatt Dam is proposed to prevent failure should the old corroded culvert should a heavy snow or rain event clog the piped causing water to overflow the dam. An excavator would be used to breach it at the outlet.

Exploration to quantify the extent, volume, grade, and type of mineralization in the claims block to determine if further exploration and/or mining activities are warranted. Drilling involves a 200 foot hole and a 400 foot hole at each of 2 sites.

The purpose of the exploration plan is to collect samples in-situ underground and past stockpiled material sources from the now closed adit. Material will be used to determine the grade and mineralogy to assess the economic potential of the site.

This proposal would replace the existing repeater facility with a new 6 x 6 x 8 foot steel radio shelter and 40 foot tower at a new site 2000 feet south of the current location.

Revision of grazing allotment management plans on the Dillon Ranger District

This project proposes to expand the popular Lion's Den Parking in Thompson Park to help address the overflow parking onto the shoulder of Montana Highway 2.

Russell Hage of Missoula, Montana has submitted a Plan of Operations to mine crystals on unpatented mining claims located in T2N, R6W, section 33, in the Radar Creek area approximately 11 miles northeast of Butte.

The proposal is to approve the continued use of an excavator and front end loader to move overburden and large boulders covering an area on an unpatented mining claim to mine for crystals.

Beaverhead - Deerlodge National Forest is proposing to salvage 1,531 acres of dead, dying or imminently dead timber from the Little Hogback and Meyers fires of 2017.

Gain McIntyre of Philipsburg, Montana has submitted a Plan of Operations (POO) to placer mine sapphires on unpatented mining claims, approximately 3/4 acre, located in the Little Moffat Gulch drainage approximately 15 miles southwest of Philipsburg.

Install grade control structures on each side of an existing crossing. Lower banks to a 1:4 grade and spread cobble and gravel on the approaches to stabilize the soil. Install a jackleg fence to keep cattle moving up or down the creek.

Reduction of conifer encroachment in parklands through hand thinning, burning hand piles, and broadcast burning as well as with the use of small equipment (e.g., Skid Steer).

This proposal is to remove of a portion of the small earthen dam at Lower Branham Lake in order to restore the outlet channel. Excavated material will be used to make minor repairs to the dam on Upper Brahnam Lake and the bridge will be replaced.

Project analyzes issuance of a SUP authorizing access to private land on an existing road and replacement of an existing bridge over the Ruby River.

The proposal is to remove 8000 tons of mine waste material from multiple sites in the South Meadow Creek area. Access and waste rock material haulage will be primarily along forest roads #9648, 9649, 9649a, 1224 and 1221.

NEPA analysis for the designation of motorized use on the Madison RD of the Beaverhead-Deerlodge NF.

Road 1237B, (0.5 miles) will require complete obliteration. Road closure devices, water bars, tread scarification and re-contouring will discourage motorized use and promote re-vegetation. Road 9677, (1.6 miles) will require only a closed sign.

The proposal would authorize NorthWest Energy & Blackfoot Telephone Co. a right-of-way approximately 1,850 feet long by 2 feet wide in order to bury electric and phone conduits for a private residence 3 feet deep in the Stony Creek Roadbed.

Relocate and construct 2 miles of trail on the upper portion of Trail 815 to connect with the CDNST and obliterate the old trail tread.

This project will reroute .55 of the 1.75 mile Maud S Canyon Trail onto National Forest Lands to provide a connection to a loop trail, reduce an unsafe grade, and prevent erosion. The East Ridge Foundation is a partner in the project.

This is a project to permit improvements to the existing spring in order to provide safe drinking water to Maverick Mountain facilities for use by recreationists.

This proposal would convey a .73 acre isolated tract of land to Mr. & Mrs. McGraw under the Small Tract Act. There are no ground disturbing activities proposed, and the current uses would remain the same.

Reduce hazardous fuel accumulation by thinning from below and prescribed fire in the South Meadow Creek area (Tobacco Root Mountains) on less than 900 acres

Commercial thinning of Douglas-fir and salvage lodgepole pine on 300 acres of National Forest System lands.

The purpose of the fencing projects is to improve cattle distribution and forage utilization by increasing the ability to control cattle movement as well as to exclude cattle along Meadow Creek near the bridge in the Blue Grotto Pasture.

Originally proposed as a package named Madison FY12 Trails Projects package in 2012. This proposal now only involves the rerouting 5000 feet and maintenance on the rest of Meridian Trail 6019, open to hikers, bikers, stock and motorcycle riders.

Cut down and slash non-merchantable lodgeploe pine trees in areas where they are overtopping aspen across 250 acres. Most trees that will be cut are less than 6 inches in diameter at breast height.

Re-establish riparian shrub community & enhance stream channel stability. Remove riparian conifers on 18 ac., plant willows, place large woody debris along stream, fence to exclude livestock/big game, build livestock watering site outside exclosure.

This project would remove the remaining streambank and vegetative material that sloughed into Mill Creek last year and stabilize the banks with rocks, root wads, and native plants to protect the existing bank from further erosion and scouring

Mr Monforton requests we renew a private road special use permit, authorized since 2001, for a mile behind a locked gate on FS Road #173. His property is surrounded by National Forest System lands.

Construct two wooden fish barriers using standard practices, one on Mono Creek and another on Lacy Creek within the West Pioneer IRA. Construction would take place in late summer or fall when stream flows are low.

The Montana 4x4 Association proposes to sponsor a statewide family ride July 24-29, 2012 on the Jefferson and Madison Ranger Districts. The Association would lead up to 15 vehicles on roads and one trail that are open to fullsize motorized vehicles.

The BDNF is considering issuing a special use permit for the construction and operation of an Interoperability Montana (IM) communication site on Ellis Peak.

The proposal would convey two mineral fraction parcels totaling 3.08 acres to Montana Resources under the Small Tracts Act

Ken Lutz of Philipsburg Montana has submitted a Plan of Operations to explore for minerals on unpatented mining claims, digging four test pits located approximately 12 miles west of Philipsburg, Montana. Access includes use of FS Road 78562.

Planting the burned area from the 2018 Monument Fire with native Whitebark pine in order to help the species establish during the period of little competition from vegetation post-fire.

The Forest Service proposes to authorize a recreation residence special use permit holder to construct a 17'x18' addition to her cabin. Less than 50 hazard trees will be removed in conjunction with construction.

This project involves maintenance and construction on approximately 3.6 miles of existing motorized use trail. New construction would replace eroded sections with steep grades, unsafe switchbacks and move the trail away from wet areas.

Issuance of special use permit(s) authorizing up to two landowners to access their private property and maintain existing routes (operation and maintenance of an existing 750 ft. long segment and improvement and maintenance of a 30 ft. driveway).

We propose to remove the remaining dead and dying lodgepole pine adjacent to separate portions of the Moosehorn Ditch to protect the integrity of the ditch should wind damage occur. For details please see the scoping letter on this project website.

Reconstruction of a 1-mile long segment of existing 16" steel gas pipeline, owned and operated by NorthWestern Energy. Total temporary disturbance would occur on approximately 13 acres of NFS lands located on the Butte and Pintler Ranger Districts.

The Forest Service proposes to issue a term special use permit for installation, use, and maintenance of a waterline system.

This project would permit continued maintenance and grooming of about 15 kilometers (9 miles) of non-motorized trails for cross country skiing from December 1st through March depending on conditions.

Reroute approximately 1,100 feet of the Neversweat trail with a new route approximately the same distance that would be cleared and groomed for cross country skiing. The trail would be cleared 10 in width to accommodate the snowmobile groomer.

Proposal to treat seven aspen units for a total of 160 acres to enhance the health and viability of aspen clones along the Lower Dry Creek road.

There is a need to relieve riparian systems of grazing pressure and promote livestock dispersal in upland forage. A pipeline extension would supply two new water troughs on NFS and private land.

This project would issue a special use permit to Mr. Murphy for construction of a 300 foot driveway off a closed route and allow NorthWest Energy to bury an underground residential powerline for 900 feet across NFS to the private building site.

Install in two locations, a water collection box, approximately 100 feet of 1.5 inch plastic pipe (buried 6 to 12 inches) and one water trough with wildlife mitigation. Spring source would be fenced off with jack pole fencing

Amend the terms of an existing permit under a National Memorandum of Understanding, to allow the Natural Resources Conservation Service to automate 2 existing snow courses (Dad Creek and Slag-a-Melt)to Snotel sites.

The proposed action is to reroute 2 segments of NFS Road 1589, which is the only motorized access to Maywood Ridge. Activities include moving the existing road out of the bottom of the draw, increasing curve radius on a switchback, and a new culvert.

NFS Road 5165 is a native surface road composed of decomposed granitic soils that are highly erosive. Three sections exceed FS specifications for maximum grade. Reroute these segments would decrease gradients from 14-17% to an average of 6% slope.

This project is proposed to enhance spawning and rearing habitat in Narrows Creek and an existing spring creek, by piping reservoir outlet flows about 2,800 feet down to critical spawning habitat. Some construction on the creek would be required.

We propose to rebuild the dam on Narrows Pond to newly acquired design specifications, in order to store adequate water to support embryo development and fry emergence of Arctic Grayling and Westslope Cutthroat Trout in Elk Lake.

This project is a proposal to issue a special use permit to allow connection of a pipeline to the overflow of a water trough on NFS lands and install approximately 2000 feet of subsurface line to water livestock on adjacent private land.

This analysis identifies the visitor use capacity on National Forest System lands only, on the Nez Perce National Historic Trail to assist in the protection and management of trail resources.

NorthWest Energy is replacing three power poles along their line from Butte to Ramsey on a small isolated Forest Service parcel at Nissler Junction near the intersection of Interstates 15 and 90.

The Noble Lake Dam was damaged in the spring of 2011 due to heavy runoff and ice plugging the spillway. The owners have proposed repair of the dam by restoring the structure to the original construction design parameters.

This project would exchange Federal lands north of Butte for private lands near Delmoe Lake.

Salvage of dead and dying lodgepole pine on about 400 acres with several aquatic projects to improve habitat conditions for westslope cutthroat trout.

Updating the allotment management plans for 11 grazing allotments.

This project involves replacement and upgrade of an existing overhead electric distribution system with a buried distribution system.

This project would reroute 1.5 and reconstruct .5 miles of Norton Trail #95 from the terminus of Norton I to the forest boundary to move the trail away from the Creek and an unauthorized trail on private land.

Relocate and construct segments of Norton Creek Trail #95 to address private land and resource damage concerns. The Norton Creek Trail #95 is approximately 20 miles south of Butte in the Northeast Fleecer Management Area.

We propose to issue a Private Road Special Use Permit authorizing the Nut Pine Lode LLC to access their private property. The project would including the repair, by the LLC, of a collapsed culvert.

Reroute and reconstruct approximately 4 switchbacks/climbing turns on about a half mile of non-motorized FS System Trail #3010 to the Odell Mountain Lookout in the West Pioneers.

Reauthorize an expired 10-year Livestock Area Special Use Permit to Candland Olsen. The permit allows constructing part of a fence on National Forest because the site on his property is too wet to construct a fence

A total of 20 repeater sites are located on the BDNF. These existing sites require annual maintenance to provide for critical communications across the Forest that support wildland fire suppression, SAR, and the health and safety of our employees.

This project involves only the administrative change of issuing a new authorization for a private road access on the Lightning Ridge Road and associated two track to a private cabin.

The proponent will excavate 8 test trenches to bedrock to test for valuable minerals. Trenches will be 50 ft wide x 75 ft long.

Robert Waller of Bozeman, MT has submitted a Plan of Operations (POO) to explore for minerals by excavating a trench 40' by 200' to bedrock on unpatented claims. The area is located approx 16 miles northwest of Deer Lodge, MT in the Master Mine area.

Portions of the Foster Cr. and Twin Lakes Trails (No. 8045 and 8044) do not meet FS standards for width and grade. 2,100 ft. of reroutes on 3 segments would be done for Twin Lakes Trail and 3,000 ft. of reroutes on 5 segments of Foster Creek Trail.

Purpose is to achieve Forest Plan Goals including timber management, aquatic improvement, wildlife habitat improvement. Proposed activities include commercial timber harvest, travel management, and reduction of conifer encroachment in sagebrush.

Maintain and reconstruct 1 mile of Pole Canyon Trail #157 and 1 mile of Pyramid Trail #163.

This project proposes to improve a hardened crossing in an allotment on Pole Creek to alleviate excess sedimentation and provide a preferred crossing for cattle.

This proposal would authorize planting 250 whitebark pine trees per acre in what was a Whitebark pine dominated site prior to the Pony fire in 2012. Inventories show that regeneration of the Whitebark pine forest-type is not happening as predicted.

We propose to issue a permit to NorthWestern Energy for installation of 1100 feet of power line from an overhead power line on Poormans Road to private property. The line will be buried in an existing roadbed.

Reroute and reconstruct the Pot Trail loop to high country in the Bear Trap Canyon Wilderness and adjacent BLM lands. Project includes a short section of private land and over 3 miles of trail through the Beaverhead-Deerlodge National Forest.

Project will relocate apx 5,000 ft of Potosi Trail #6303 on five segments which are steep and trenched from erosion. Some of the trail will be restored to the original tread.

Justin Hanninen of Butte, Montana has submitted a Plan of Operations to explore for minerals on unpatented mining claims located in T7N, R7W, section 36, approximately 8.5 miles northwest of Basin, Montana.

Joel Silver of Butte, Montana has submitted a Plan of Operations (POO) to explore for minerals on unpatented mining claims. His proposal includes excavating eight placer exploration test pits using an excavator to test for valuable minerals.

The proposed action is to convey approximately .50 acres of NFS lands in the Jerry Creek watershed to John and Debbie Primozic under the Small Tracts Act.

A portion of Rader Creek Road will be seasonally closed to vehicles and used as a cross country ski trail. A 3500 foot winter bypass for only ATV and snowmobile use will be designated around that portion. This includes 200 feet of new trail.

Proposal to exchange a permit for motorized access to private land on 1320 feet of an old jeep road closed to motorized traffic for an easement across private land for the same distance to maintain public access along the Ramshorn Creek Trail #6016

The proposed action would conduct vegetation management activities to promote resilience to insects and disease. Treatments would include timber harvest and removal of conifer encroachment from aspen stands.

Salvage harvest of dead and dying timber within the Rat Creek Fire (2007) perimeter. The project includes approximately 2,500 acres of salvage harvest and 10 miles of temporary road construction.

This project involves maintenance and reconstruction along 3.7 miles of the existing trail tread in the Elkhorn Mountain Range. New trail tread shall be 48 inches in width. No changes in travel managment are proposed. The trail is open to ATVs.

proposal to permit mineral exploration in an unpatented mining claim using a backhoe to excavate 8 trenches. Trenches will be opened one at a time and reclaimed before excavating the next. Samples would be removed and processed off-site.

The Lost Creek Trail is acessible from the Lost Creek State Park and the Warm Springs Road. The trail needs work to bring it up to trail standards. Originally proposed as Lost and Foster Creek trails. Decision affects only Lost Creek Trail.

Rcreation residence permits issued for 145 recreation residence lots on the Beaverhead-Deerlodge National Forest, that expired on Dec 31, 2008. Total area is 100 acres including 17 tracts and 8 isolated tracts.

Reduce stand density and increase age class, size class, and species diversity; reduce conifer encroachment; provide forest products.

The Forest Service is considering the conveyance of approximately 4 acres of NFS lands in the Upper North Meadow Creek to Reed Montana Holdings, LLC under the Small Tracts Act

The proposed action is to issue a 30 year Communication Use Lease to Rfwave for a single use facility located adjacent to Denton%u2019s Marina on Georgetown Lake.

Proposal is for a small-scale placer exploration program. A total of 25 small pits, or holes (6’ long x 4’ wide x 5’ deep), would be excavated using hand tools such as picks and shovels.

A .75 mile extension of an existing non-motorized recreation and outdoor education trail from the Philipsburg, Montana town park and back. The trail traverses the Pintler Ranger District horse pastures.

Proposal to construct by hand tools, a mile and a half of interpretive trail between the Riverview and Madison campgrounds. Interpretive material will explain land use over time, local geology, wilderness managment, and living with grizzly bears

The BLM proposes to bury 900’ of 1 ½” plastic pipe between the water source in Section 34 and a new water tank on the BLM in Section 4. Approximately 500’ of pipeline will be bured on National Forest.

The Forest Service proposes to issue a Private Road Special Use Permit authorizing the landowner to use an existing road to access their property. The portion of the road on NFS land is approximately 1,200 feet in length and 14 feet in width.

We propose to cut Douglas-fir trees encroaching on 0.78 acres of riparian area to use as a barrier along Romy Creek. A strategic opening will funnel them to the historic road crossing and reduce trampling on about 60 yards of streambank.

The Forest Service is considering the conveyance of approximately 4.2 acres of NFS land in the Warm Springs Creek watershed to Mary Jane Spain under the Small Tracts Act

The proposal would rehabilitate or relocate the Ross Fork Trail from aboutl 1 mi east of Fox Creek to Abundance Saddle. It would also relocate the Bitterroot Divide trail from Abunance Saddle to the Rooster Comb Saddle.

Renew a 10-year special use permit for Royal Tine Outfitting and Guide School

This project proposes to improve 325-acres of winter habitat for moose along the Ruby River in the Gravelly Landscape, Snowcrest Mountain Recommended Wilderness Area.

The S Fk-N Fk of Divide Creek has reaches with alterations such as straightened stream channels and ditches. Potential restoration activities include reconnecting altered channel to existing, original channel and adding woody debris for habitat.

Permit vehicle access to private property through across 56 feet of National Forest land. It would allow the holder to improve, use and maintain a private driveway.

Southern Montana Telephone will be permitted to construct approximately 16 miles of underground fiber optic cable along highway 43 and Trail Creek Road.

The Saw Log Placer Project is testing for placer deposits. The claimant plans to dig 3 test holes during this operation. Each test hole will be 6ft to 10ft wide, 10ft long, and 5ft to 10ft deep.

We plan to decommission the lower portion of Schwinegar Lake Trail #2259 that is eroding and causing resource damage. We propose to reroute about three quarters of a mile of trail along the contour line of the slope to tie in with Trail #2758.

The proposed action is to bury 1600 feet of 1.5 inch plastic pipe, from the existing water tank in Section 6 to a new water tank located on BLM ground in Section 7. Approximately 1200? of the pipeline is located on National Forest.

This proposal would authorize development of a spring water source with a headbox, pipeline, and two water tanks in the Little Galena pasture of the Galena allotment. Tanks would be placed 50 and 1400 ft from the source.

We propose building a fish barrier in Selway Creek to support a MTFWP project to reintroduce native westslope cutthroat trout and improve habitat for an existing population of Forest Service listed sensitive species of Western Pearl Shell Mussels

Cleaning, maintenance, or repair of ditches, and replacement of diversion structures as needed on irrigation ditches in Selway Meadows.

Proposal to expand up to four existing gravel pits in the Selway and Bloody Dick Drainages over the next 20 years for road improvement projects. Two pits are in the Tash Peak and one in the West Big Hole IRA. See scoping letter and maps.

We propose to install up to three hardened stream crossings and sections of fence at primary livestock crossing sites on the lower reach of Selway Creek. The project would protect streambanks, reduce sediment, and narrow the stream channel.

This project is proposed to begin restoring a declining willow population and improve stream function on Selway Creek. The Beaverhead-Deerlodge Working Group, The Nature Conservancy, FWP, volunteers and staff will help do the planting with the FS.

Locate and construct approximately 12 miles of the Continental Divide National Scenic Trail (CDNST). The Forest Service proposes to construct a non-motorized trail to meet the intent of the CDNST Comprehensive Plan

This project proposes an amendment to the Three Rivers master permit, granting a Right-of-Way for the purpose of installing fiber optic cable along about four miles of road on Forest Service land to bring needed services to rural communities

The proposed action is to install a collection box at a spring source and pipe water to a 500 gallon livestock water trough via 500 to 700 feet of poly pipe 1.5 inches in diameter. The spring source would be fenced to protect it from trampling.

Reconstruct two and a half miles of OHV trail along Slag-a-melt Creek to All Terrain Vechicle Trail Class 3 standards.

Based on geological indicators, one specific site would be core drilled to determine if a mineral ore body exists. The results of this exploration would determine whether additional drilling, to define the ore body, would be needed.

We propose to permit a mineral company to dig five exploration test trenches about 4 feet deep, 15 feet wide and 316 to 1202 feet long. Total disturbance would be approximately 3 acres.

Frank Antonioli of Butte has submitted a Plan of Operations (POO) to explore for minerals on unpatented mining claims located in T8N, R13W, section 6, approximately 10 miles north of Philipsburg, Montana.

Construct and install a 12 foot denil fish ladder attached to a 7'x7' concrete head wall. The top of the fish ladder will be covered to prevent blockage. The contractor would use a tracked excavator to do the work.

Approves an ammended plan of operations to establish a new portal to access the old mine workings and complete bulk sampling. This is the next step in the development of the mine.

This is a proposal to re-authorize a new 10-year term special use permit to Snowline Grazing Association for continued use of existing structures and use on NFS lands. There are no changes proposed to the expiring permit.

This project proposes to relocate an emergency and safety radio communications repeater from a poor signal site to a location with better coverage on South Baldy Mountain.

Proposal from Cedar Lake Irrigation Association to access their point of diversion on the South Fork of Jack Creek to install a new headgate, clean the culvert, manipulate the stream channel, and clear sediment and debris from the irrigation ditch.

Review grazing practices and infrastructure for 4 domestic livestock grazing allotments (Eureka Basin, Pole Creek, Southwest Corner and Robb Creek)to ensure compliance with applicable Forest Plan direction.

The project proposes to reroute existing trail, build new trail to connect a trail loop, and decommission portions of trail that are not up to forest standards.

Telephone to bury new fiber optic cable to replace existing telephone lines on Butte and Wise River Ranger Districts in existing right-of-ways.

Treatment of 70 ac. of NFS lands via commercial thinning of overstocked stands. Thinning would occur in areas with a target basal area of approx. 40 to 80 sq. ft. per acre and implemented through mechanical harvest. UR8-416A would be decommissioned.

This action would permit a road and well to services a private residence on a patented claim.

This proposal would relocate approximately 2,500 feet of Spring Creek Trail no. 7093 from private land to National Forest. Approximately 2300 feet of new trail would be constructed on National Forest.

Reconstruct 3.5 miles of the Stone Lakes Trail to meet Motorcycle Trail Class 2 standards.

Installation of a new fence approximately 0.4 miles long and extension of existing fence by 0.3 miles in Stony Creek and construction of a 40 ft. x 80 ft. corral adjacent to NFS Road No. 5012 in Cornish Gulch for loading and unloading cattle.

We propose to authorize Anthony Marletto to replace an existing makeshift diversion dam with a vortex rock weir including a fish screen and associated fish bypass structure.

Preparation of a supplemental analysis for the Corrected FEIS for revision of the Beaverhead and Deerlodge Forest Plans into the 2009 BDNF Forest Plan, in response to an August 27, 2015 Order from the U.S. District Court for the District of Montana.

The proposed action is to authorize T-Mobile to install equipment at the established Rumsey Mountain Communication Site. This use would be authorized as a Communication Site Lease with a 30 year term.

This proposal considers re-authorizing a special use permit for a new 10-year term for existing structures and uses on NFS lands.

Proposal would bury 3000’ of 1 ½” plastic pipe from the existing water tank (Section 15) to a new water tank on BLM land (Section 14). Approximately a 2800' of pipeline would be buried on National Forest.

This project is proposed to remove the deteriorated and failing dam on Tendoy Lake to ensure water that leaves the lake stays in the Willow Creek drainage. The project is intended to benefit native fish and won't change water levels in the lake.

The BLM Dillon Field Office and Dillon Ranger District are starting the Environmental Assessment(EA) on Applications for Permit to Drill, submitted by the Lima Exploration Company, LLC.

Proposal would manage several trails in and adjacent to Thompson Park for non-motorized winter recreation opportunities by continuing to groom approximately 12 miles of trail and adding another 1.10 miles of route to the groomed trail system

Salvage dead and dying trees on no more than 250 acres of National Forest System (NFS) lands on the Beaverhead-Deerlodge National Forest (BDNF) just north of MT Hwy 43 within the Trail Creek Fire perimeter.

We seek to improve riparian vegetation structure and composition in the Trail Creek area, proactively removing expanding conifers in this area would ensure this valuable riparian shrub/willow component is maintained and allowed to improve overtime.

Establish fish barrier in Trapper Creek constructed with lumber, fill, rip-rap and concrete for the conservation of Westslope Cutthroat Trout. An excavator will be used for site preparation and barrier construction.

This revised proposal includes removal of colonizing conifers on 3338 acres of riparian vegetation, mountain mahogany, and sagebrush/grass parks using slashing and burning, broadcast burning, or lop and scatter to meet Forest Plan objectives

Project decommissions approximately 3.5 miles of road and convert it to a single track trail. This converted road would then become part of the Twin Lakes Trail #8044 and the Fourmile Basin Trail #8113.

Build 0.5 miles of log-worm or jack & pole type fence between the upper and lower Little Lake Management Unit pasture in the Twin Lakes Allotment. The new fence would connect to an existing fence on the north side of Little Lake Creek.

Removal of dead, dying, structurally weakened, infested and/or infected, and at-risk adjacent live trees on up to 250 acres on 12 units through the use of mechanical harvest and ground-based skidding adjacent to County Road No. 88 and private land.

We propose to use a mini excavator to restore 100 feet of stream bank washed out by flooding, do minor trail repair, and barricade a non-motorized route while the excavator is in use to bury a pipe for a water development to protect a spring.

This proposal is to build a structure at the outlet of Van Houten Lake to block non-native trout passage upstream into the lake.

Vigilante Electric proposes to rebuild an existing 69kV overhead transmission line. The new overhead transmission line runs across approximately 4,224 feet of NFS lands in a 50 foot wide corridor.

This proposal is to issue a Private Road Special Use Permit to Danny Villa and Lisa Jesse for operation and maintenance of 160 feet of existing road across NFS land to access their private property.

This project iwould move the Dry Hollow storage tank point of diversion in the Electric Fence pasture about 1740 feet, add a trough, and reconstruct 1.11 mi. of existing pipeline to protect a resource at the original point of diversion.

Construction of two 1.25 inch livestock pipelines and troughs. The Wall Creek Pipeline Extension is .5 miles long off an existing pipeline. Hyde Creek Pipeline extends 0.1 mile from a spring.

The purpose of this project is to protect over 6 miles of Westslope Cutthroat Trout occupied habitat in the Wall Creek drainage, by constructing a fish passage barrier near the downstream Forest boundary.

Replace five undersized culverts with bridges, or larger culverts to allow upstream movement for all life stages of fish and other aquatic organisms and pass projected 100 year flood events.

The project moves a fence between two range pastures that currently lies within an increasingly popular, dispersed camp site. By moving the fence away from the recreation site, it should reduce the amount of recreation and livestock conflicts.

Phase 1 involves trail maintenance and reconstruction from the trailhead to Waukena Lake. Phase 2 involves trail reconstrction from Waukena Lake to Tahepia Lake. It includes blasing within a half mile east of Waukeena pass.

Removal of hazard trees along the Montgomery, Slag-A-Melt, and Low Furley north and south ditches on approximately 3.2 miles of the ditch easement within one tree length, (50 to 150 feet) from both sides of the ditch.

Project to reconstruct sections of formerly motorized routes on 10.5 combined miles of trail in the Berry, Janke, Hamby, and Pioneer creek drainages (closed by the February 2010 Record of Decision) to Non-motorized Class 3 Trail standards.

We propose to harden an existing eroding livestock crossing a by installing grade control structures and using compacted gravel over cobble on approaches. Jackleg fences will keep stock in the crossing.

Proposal to authorize permittee to construct 100 feet by 100 feet wooden or metal corral to temporarily hold cattle while finalizing allotment cleanup

Reestablish bridge on motorized trail 6700 at the West Fork Madison River crossing

This project proposes to construct a wooden fish barrier on the Upper West Fork Madison River to aid in the conservation of westslope cutthroat trout.

We propose to use bioengineering techniques to create up to 20 pool habitats to improve stream habitat condition and water quality to improve long-term persistence of westslope cutthroat trout in their native range.

We propose this project to clean, maintain, and repair failures in existing irrigation ditches and replace 3 diversion structures with structures that meet standards. We also plan to reconnect two historic channels to the main stem of Selway Creek.

We propose to construct 4.7 miles of new trail and obliterate 1.4 miles of the old trail tread, in order to reroute the Whetstone Ridge Trail to resolve safety, erosion and public access concerns posed at the existing location.

The project proposes fence improvements within the Whitetail Reservoir Exclosure and is also part of the South Pony grazing allotment. There is a need to limit unauthorized routes adjacent to FSR 8695 that have been created within the riparian area.

The Forest Service proposes to approve the Wigwam Trail C&H livestock allotment permittee to construct approximately 0.51 miles of fence at three different locations in the Wigwam Creek watershed to divert livestock from wet areas and Wigwam Creek.

We propose to work with Montana Fish Wildlife & Parks to modify the existing waterfall on Willow Creek to become a fish barrier to contribute toward future native fish restoration and benefit existing restoration projects.

Proposal to convert 2 communication sites, identified in the Beaverhead-Deerlodge Forest Plan as "proposed" to permanent administrative sites. Equipment is in place and the conversion is an administrative exercise.

Proponent proposes to excavate 11 test trenches to bedrock to test for valuable minerals. Trenches will be 50 ft wid X 75 ft long.

The Forest Service is considering the Plan of Operations for drilling 14 holes and the potential for 14 mud pits within existing mine road footprint at the Yellowband Mine.
