West Face Trailhead

The West Face Trailhead is used primarily in the snow season as a snowmobile trailhead parking area. There is summertime use as a trailhead for hiking to Goose Creek Falls and mountain biking. Directions:  Travel west from McCall on Hwy 55 4.5 miles to the trailhead.  It is located on the north side of the road.

West Fork #240

The West Fork Trail #240 starts at Forest Service Road #858.3G, and ends and Forest Service Road 858, Owl Pass/Cimarron Road. It starts near the Middle Fork of the Cimarron River, climbs a ridge and travels along the ridge until it intersects the Cowboy Lake Trail #244 after about 1.6 miles. It then descends toward the East Fork of the Cimarron River before coming to an end at FSR 858.

West Fork Bikeway

For those seeking an easy stroll down a canopied paved trail with relaxing water sounds, then the West Fork is for you! This 7-mile hike can be accessed from Hwy. 39 and is located 14 miles above the city of Azusa, CA. This nationally-designated bikeway is very popular with bicyclists who enjoy flat surface. Follow the trail towards Glenn Campground (campground closed) and eventually Cogswell Dam.

West Fork Cataract Trailhead #842

West Fork Cataract Trail #842 follows the West Fork of Cataract Creek and links Cataract Creek Trail #847 with Water Hill Trail #845 offering loop hiking opportunities. Access from Cataract Creek Trail #842 trailhead requires crossing the Vermilion River. This crossing is challenging and difficult for much of the year. There are not stream crossings for users who access the trail via Water Hill Trail #845.

West Fork Dry Creek Trailhead #1021

West Fork Dry Creek Trail #1021 follows an old road prism into the head end of Dry Creek drainage and ends at the Cabinet Ranger District/Three Rivers Ranger District boundary. Be advised the road prism on the last four miles of the trail was re-contoured making the tread conditions unfavorable. The trail crosses Dry Creek just after the trailhead. This crossing is challenging and dangerous during peak runoff.

West Fork Fishing Access Fishing Site

West Fork Fishing Access provides anglers with a peaceful and scenic spot to fish along the West Fork of the San Gabriel River. Surrounded by lush forest and diverse wildlife, this site offers excellent opportunities to catch Trout. This is a small campsite with 7 designated sites directly adjacent to West Fork of the Madison River with tent camping only. Vault toilets, water, garbage services and fishing access are available.

West Fork Morgan Creek Campground

One site with picnic table and fire ring, near trail access to Frank Church River of No Return Wilderness. Camp area amenities include a vault toilet. No drinking water or garbage service is on site.
