Rock Creek Lake and the nearby area attract visitors from all over the world.  Rock Creek Lake is a traditional alpine lake surrounded by Jeffrey pines.

This area is east of Missoula and offers many campgrounds, picnic areas and two particularly special and popular log cabins available for rent. Rock Creek is a blue ribbon fishing stream and the canyon is rich with geology and wildlife to appreciate.

Crane Prairie Reservoir is surrounded by young pine forests and low rolling hills.  There is a boat ramp, boat docks and a fish cleaning station at this site with a small parking lot for trailers. There is a 10 mph speed limit on Crane Prairie Reservoir.

Rock Creek Lake is a favorite fishing spot for visitors and locals alike. The launch ramp at Rock Creek Lake can handle small trailers and car top boats.  There is a 5 mph speed limit on Rock Creek Lake.

This campground is located along Rock Creek, near where Rock Creek meets the Chiwawa River. 20 miles up the Chiwawa River from Lake Wenatchee, the campground offers trailhead access to Rock Creek and Estes Butte Trails.

Rock Creek Campground is one of the few campgrounds on the Mt. Hough Ranger District that allows OHV trail access directly from the campground. It has vault restrooms and no water. The sites are all located along the creek.  There are 6 units total for both tent and small RV camping.  

This 1.5-mile (one-way) hike begins in Rock Creek Recreation Area.  There are numerous creek crossings, so plan on getting your feet wet. The trail lies in the Congressionally  designated Unaka  Mountain Wilderness.  Take extra caution when hiking this trail because the trail is  not blazed and stream crossings may be difficult to negotiate. 

This moderate trail takes you in to the Rock Creek Gorge Scenic Area, known for it's waterfalls.  This trail is 1.6 miles (each way), and includes several creek crossings.

Rock Creek Group Campground is located next to Rock Creek in the Rock Creek Drainage at an elevation of 7200 feet. The drainage sits on the southern slope of the beautiful Uinta Mountains. Visitors enjoy fishing and exploring the popular Stillwater Trail.

Rock Creek Horse Camp is located within the Lake Como Recreation Area. It features 11 tent and small trailer campsites, handicap accessible vault toilets, gravel surfaced roads, garbage service, and stock facilities, such as hitch rails, stock ramp, and feed bunks. The Rock Creek Lake Trailhead is a very small rustic site with no amenities. The access road to the site is suitable for high clearance four wheel-drive vehicles only. This is the site of a spectacular weather event. In 1989, a "microburst," or tornado-like windstorm ripped down hundreds of trees in this canyon. An interpretive sign explains this phenomenon.
