Yankee Fork Drainage

The Yankee Fork of the Salmon has a rich history in it's many uses by settlers and prospectors.  Custer Townsite and the Yankee Fork Dredge are two major attractions.  You can stay at one of many campgrounds in the area or enjoy both motorized and non-motorized trails.

Yankee Hill

The Yankee Hill area offers a network of OHV opportunities. The main route starting near Columbine Campground allows riders to unload near Bald Mtn Cemetery and continue on NFSR 273.2, to 175.1 and west to the town of Alice. Yankee Meadow Campground

Yankee Meadows Campground is a little known gem that offers outstanding beauty and recreation. Yates Place

Yates Place Camp was an old home site, but now serves as an attractive destination for tent camping. A vaul toilet, tables, and grills are available at the site. Yates Place Camp is located near the Uwharrie Trail, a 20-mile National Recreation hiking trail.  This camp is also popular with deer hunters and hiking groups that use it as a base camp or staging area.     

Yates Pond

Yates Ponds are approximately 1.3 acre ponds on Spearfish Creek. The Forest Service owns the shoreline. Private land ownership is nearby but does not include the shoreline. The South Dakota Game, Fish, and Parks manages the fishing here so consult the state fishing regulations prior to fishing. Yavapai Vista

Yavapai Vista Trail is a 0.5 mile heavily trafficked out and back trail located near Sedona, Arizona that offers scenic views. The trail is good for all skill levels and primarily used for hiking, walking, and nature trips. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash.

Yearns Reservoir

Yearns Reservoir is a small 3 acre reservoir located next to Manti Community Campground.  The Department of Wildlife Resources of Utah (DWR) stocks this reservoir with Rainbow Trout.

Yellow Dog Falls

Located in the northeast part of the McCormick Wilderness, these falls are located on the Yellow Dog River, one of only a handful Eastern rivers to be named "wild". Yellow Jacket

Also known as Road 1284 or White Road. The State Highway Department plows the road to their maintenance shed and provides space for approximately 20 cars. This parking area provides access to an area with good views of Mt. Rainier and excellent beginner level cross-country skiing, but also offers some good telemark skiing in the adjacent clearcuts.
