Fooses Reservoir
Fooses reservoir is a small lake located just off of Highway 50, on the banks of Fooses Creek. The lake was created around 1905 to generate hydro-electric power for a Public Service company power plant located downstream. The lake is a popular fishing site for anglers and is periodically stocked with catchable Rainbow trout that can measure between 8 and 12 inches in length.
Forbes Group Campground
Forbes Creek Group Campground is located on the southeast shore of Sugar Pine Reservoir in a cedar and pine forest overlooking the reservoir. It is near the North Fork of the American River with access to trails and swimming.
Ford Cabin
Ford is available May 20th through March 31st annually. Ford Cabin is 45 miles north of Columbia Falls along the Wild and Scenic North Fork of the Flathead River. The Forest Practices Interpretive Site is a small roadside stop located along the Elkhorn Drive Scenic Byway. The interpretive panel describes the different types of silvicultural forest harvesting and thinning treatments of the lodgepole pine forest in front of the area.
