International Forestry Fellows Program Video

This video is a profile of Pia Sundvall, a student from the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences. Pia participated in the International Forestry Fellows Program, through which she interned with the Superior National Forest - LaCroix Ranger District in the summer of 2016.

International visitors can participate in a broad variety of educational, scientific, and cultural exchange programs hosted by the U.S. Forest Service and other USDA agencies.  These exchange programs foster greater understanding, advance scientific exchanges and promote cooperation among cultures and countries.

The USFS International Visitor Program (IVP) team assists international government officials, researchers, specialists and students participating in short study tours, meetings, conferences, workshops, trainings, internships, ongoing research projects and technical consultations with U.S. Forest Service staff, USDA researchers, higher education institutions and hosting communities.

The U.S. Forest Service is an official sponsor of the U.S. Department of State Exchange Visitor Program and sponsors J-1 visas for educational and cultural exchanges for government visitors, research scholars, short-term scholars, specialists, interns and trainees.
