Your national forests and grasslands are 193 million acres of vast, scenic beauty waiting for you to discover. Over 3 million acres of land located in 22 National Recreation Areas managed by the Forest Service is preserved for recreational activities like hiking, boating, fishing and swimming, while highlighting natural, cultural and scenic resources. Visitors who choose to recreate on these public lands find 164,000 miles of trails, over 30,000 recreation sites, over 5,000 miles of streams and 3 million acres of lakes, 127 alpine ski areas, 338,000 heritage sites, and specially designated sites that include 37 million acres of designated wilderness areas, 130 wild and scenic rivers, 15 monuments, and one preserve. Long Draw Campground

Long Draw Campground is situated near Long Draw Reservoir. Long Draw has 25 sites including three double sites. Each site has a picnic table and fire grate. Popular activities in the area include reservoir and stream fishing and hiking. View a campground map.

Long Draw North Trailhead

The Long Draw North Trailhead is located at the Chevelon Crossing Campground, providing adequate room for parking and staging. Camping is available when weather allows and vault toilets are available during warmer months. From the campground, the trail follows FR 504 North for approximately 1 mile to FR 169 where the trail then veers south onto the FR 169.

Long Draw Parking (Winter) Trailhead

In snowy months, Long Draw Road is closed. But, this is a popular area for snowmobiles. Be aware that other winter activities take place here, including cross country skiing and snowshoeing.

Long Fork Silver Creek / Bitter Creek Trailhead

The Long Fork Silver Creek / Bitter Creek Trailhead has one big parking area with 2 sign boards serving 2 separate trails.

Long Gulch Trailhead

Long Gulch Trailhead provides access to a portion of the Colorado Trail (segment 4).

Long Gulch Trailhead

Trailhead is off of Forest Rd. 39N08 several miles west of Carter Summit.  Trailhead provides access to Trinity Alps Wilderness, with loop hikes (Long Gulch Trail and Trail Gulch Trail) and longer hikes southwards into the Shasta-Trinity National Forest portion of the Trinity Alps possible.

Long Lake

  Long Lake is a 13-acre 58-foot deep, clear water lake located at an elevation of 3,237 feet. This is a non-motorized fly fishing only lake. Long Lake #5

This 1.3 mile one-way hike around the lake includes segments of talus (rock rubble) where footing can be difficult. This trail starts at the campground and ends at the boat launch.

Long Lake Boat Area

A concrete boat ramp provides access to the 926 acre Long Island Lake. Long Island Lake is just east of MN Highway 84. Northern pike, largemouth bass, and panfish such as bluegills, sunfish and perch are found in this lake.

Long lake has well shaded level campsites that can accommodate anything from tents to larger RVs and trailers. The entrance road is a bit narrow and rough along the eastern shoreline of Fish Lake, so larger RV's should use caution. Long Lake Trailhead

The Long Lake Trail is 1.4 miles long. It begins at the shore of Cut Point - Behm Narrows and ends at Long Lake Shelter - Long Lake. The trail is not routinely maintained by the Forest Service and may be difficult to navigate.

Long Lake Trailhead

Long Lake Trailhead is only accessible via boat and the trail is not maintained, but provides access to Long Lake and the Bridger Wilderness. It is located on the far Northern shores of Fremont Lake, approximately an 11-mile boat ride in. There is no established mooring location for your boat, so plan accordingly.

Long Ridge Trailhead

This trailhead is part of the Monday Creek OHV Trail System. The Monday Creek area of the Wayne National Forest provides some excellent opportunities for riding off-highway vehicles (OHVs). North of Nelsonville, this trail system provides approximately 75 miles of designated trails to off-highway vehicle riders, mountain bikers, and hikers. Long Valley Caldera

Longhouse National Scenic Byway
