Over 3 million acres of land located in 22 National Recreation Areas managed by the Forest Service is preserved for recreational activities like hiking, boating, fishing and swimming, while highlighting natural, cultural and scenic resources. East Creek Cabin

A 12 x 14-foot rustic cabin in the Resurrection Creek valley surrounded by spruce/birch forest with views of nearby mountains. This cabin sleeps 6, and has a table, wood stove, splitting maul, crosscut saw, and outhouse. Not included: running water, electricity, mattresses or bedding, cooking utensils, or cut firewood.

East Creek Campground

East Creek Campground offers four first-come, first-served sites for tents or small trailers. The maximum recommended trailer length for the area is 16 feet. There is no cell phone service here. This is a primitive campground with great views.

East Creek Campground offers horse camping and equestrian access to the South Warner Wilderness. Corrals and stock water are available. East Creek Trail is currently closed (inaccessible) but there is connector trail over to Patterson Campground which provides access to the Summit Trail. Tree clearing along the East Creek trail is planned to take place in Spring 2023.

 A connector trail heading to the north-east from East Creek Campground will take you to the Summit Trail via Patterson Campground. East Creek Campground is best used by equestrian campers. Day use and hikers camping for some period of time would be better served by Patterson Campground about 1/4 mile to the east.

The East Curecanti Trail #454 begins at an intersection with the Curecanti Trail #870 on the Paonia Ranger District and ends at Forest Service Road #721 in Big Soap Park on the Gunnison Ranger District. East Fork Area

The district has several miles of trails in the East Fork of the Salmon River country.  Access for these trails is generally from BLM lands.  Please respect private property when recreating in this area.

East Fork Baker Creek Campground

East Fork Baker Creek Campground is a primitive non-fee, non-reservation campground composed of 7 campsites located by the East Fork of Baker Creek. This area is accessible from June through November. Campground amenities include a vault toilet and fire rings. Fishing is available in Baker Creek.

East Fork Bear Creek #513

The East Fork Bear Creek Trail #513 begins at an intersection with the Wasatch Trail #508 about 1 mile from the Wasatch Trail beginning and ends at another intersection with the Wasatch Trail. This trail offers a scenic hike along the east fork of Bear Creek. A loop route of about 3.5 miles can be accomplished by combining these two trails.

This campground has picnic tables. Local popular recreation activities include hiking, fishing, backpacking, and mountain biking.

East Fork Blacks Fork Guard Station

This is a guard station is only available for rent November through mid-May. Access maybe limited to snowmobilers, cross-country skiers, and snowshoers.

East Fork Blacks Fork Trailhead

This timbered trailhead is popular for local fishing, stream and hiking. It provides wilderness access.
