Rockpile Mountain Wilderness

This 4,238 acre Wilderness takes its name from an ancient circle of granite rock, piled by some earlier man on top of the mountain. Rocky Branch Seasonal Campground

Rocky Branch Seasonal Campground offers a more primitive experience with ten sites for campers. The surrounding forest environment provides an opportunity for many recreational activities such as wildlife and plant observation, fishing, hiking, and photography. Abundant wildlife populations provide some of the most desirable hunting areas in the upstate.

Rocky Branch Shelter #1

Rocky Branch Shelter sleeps 6-8, with a fire ring, toilet, and 3 tent platforms for tenting. The shelter sits along the Rocky Branch River just outside of the Presidential-Dry River Wilderness.  The Rocky Branch Trail is now open all the way through.  It re-opened in September 2015, 4 years after closure due to damage sustained during Tropical Storm Irene.

Beautiful developed campground along Hat Creek. Sites have barbeques and fire rings.

Rocky Canyon Campground

This is a fairly small campground and is popular with horse riders and hunters.

Rocky Fork Picnic Site

Rocky Fork Picnic Site is at the base of the Ruedi Reservior dam. It is next to the Frying Pan River, making it popular with anglers.

This trail is fairly steep for the first half mile, then levels off to a gradual climb until it connects with FS 528. 

Rocky Gorge Campground

The Rocky Gorge Campground is located approximately 26 miles southwest of Eureka off Hwy 37.  The campground has 60 campsites including one host site, with tables, fire rings and some with tent pads and able to accommodate up to 32' rv. Amenities include potable water, vault toilets, dock and a fully developed boat launch.

Rocky Gorge Scenic Area

This beautiful scenic area is accessed via a paved walkway from a large parking area where rest rooms are available. There is a foot bridge over the gorge which provides an excellent photo opportunity looking upstream to where the Swift River narrows as it cascades into the gorge.
