The Trail Creek Trailhead is a small trailhead on the east side of Colorado State Highway 125. The trail starts on the west side of the highway.

This trailhead is located on Highway 93, west of Carter Meadows Summit. Leaving the trailhead, Trail #5521 follows the Trail Creek drainage and meets the Pacific Crest Trail.  The PCT goes southeast toward Carter Meadows Summit, or north into the Russian Wilderness.

The trailhead is located immediately east of Boundary Campground and Picnic Area. It serves the Trail Creek Tr. No. 305 and the Corral Creek Tr. No. 325. The trails are also accessable from pull-offs along Trail Creek Road. Vault toilets and drinking water are available in the picnic area. Please keep dogs on leash within the developed area.

The Trail Creek Trailhead has no amenities. All trailheads have space for parking.

A short north-side spur just a mile above the Greys/ Little Greys junction offers parking at a dispersed site before becoming a two-track; or if you have a horse trailer, park just on the north side of the road before the spur and start your trail day there. The Elk Mountain Lookout Spur travels east along the ridgetop.

Trail Fork Motorized trailhead is at the back of Cottonwood Lake Campground's easternmost loop and provides access to the Trail Fork Motorized Trail. 

The trailhead has a small parking area and a trailhead information kiosk.  The trail provides access to the Trinity Alps Wilderness, with a lake basin on the north side of the Scott Mountains divide, and multiple trail options in the Coffee Creek watershed on the south side of the divide.  Another option is a loop hike with the Long Gulch trail.
