Davis Lake Campground
This small rustic campground provides beautiful views of Davis Lake from each campsite. There is a single lane dirt road which serves as access to the campsites and the small boat launch. Boating is noncombustible motors only and the cutthroat trout fishing is fantastic. In addition, there is a 1.2-mile hiking trail # 92 will take you around Davis Lake.

The trail head has ample parking. The Davis Path is one of the oldest and longest routes approaching Mt. Washington and totals over 14 miles in length. Daytrippers access Mt. Crawford at 2.2 miles from the parking lot.

This wide dirt trail begins at Cortina Lane and ends at a radio tower with views of the mountains to the southwest. It is rocky and rutted in sections with a constant elevation gain and a few short steep sections as it passes through aspens and open meadows with views of Dowd Junction. The ride ends at a radio tower with views of Mount of the Holy Cross and Meadow Mountain. Descend the same route.

Davy Brown Trailhead
The Davy Brown Trailhead is located approximately 13 miles from the time one turns onto Figueroa Mountain Road off of Highway 154. It is one mile past the Figueroa Campground on the left hand side of the road. The large dirt turnout parking area accommodates between 6 and 8 vehicles. The Davy Brown Trailhead leads to various connecting trails, including Munch Canyon Trail.

The Davy Crockett National Forest, named for the legendary pioneer, contains more than 160,000 acres of East Texas woodlands, streams, recreation areas, and wildlife habitat. Located in Houston and Trinity Counties, the forest is centrally located within the Neches and Trinity River basins. The Davy Crockett National Forest was proclaimed a National Forest by President Franklin Roosevelt on October 15, 1936.
