Over 3 million acres of land located in 22 National Recreation Areas managed by the Forest Service is preserved for recreational activities like hiking, boating, fishing and swimming, while highlighting natural, cultural and scenic resources. Dinkle Lake Day Use Area is at the base of Mount Sopris. It adjacent to popular hiking trails and near the Maroon Bells-Snowmass Wilderness Area. It an ideal spot for picnics and lake fishing.

Dinner Station Campground - Gunnison RD

This campground is used primarily by four-wheel drive, ATV and trail bike enthusiasts. It is located 3.75 miles north of Taylor Reservoir. Several fishing sites line the banks of the Taylor River near the campground. The Collegiate Peaks Wilderness Area lies 4 miles east of this campground. Landscape includes ponderosa pine next to an open sage brush valley. 22 campsites.

Dinner Station Campground and Picnic Area

Dinner Station Campground is a hillside campground covering 5 acres along Birch Creek that has 8 camping units, a day-use picnic area, ADA accessible toilets, and water.
