Barron Creek Boating Site

Bartlett Reservoir

  The Bartlett Reservoir area is noted for the spectacular vistas of the Desert Mountains and the Sonoran plant life. A fair portion of the west side of the reservoir is devoted to camping and picnicking. Bartlett has been a favorite with anglers since Bartlett Dam was constructed in 1939. After a 6.4 mile hike, this trail dead ends on Table Mountain, a noted point for viewing the Tetons and Cascade Canyon.  The trail is maintained and most of it is easily hiked, although some portions are steep.  The change in elevation is over 4,000 feet, so be prepared for a workout.  Due to the north facing slopes, this trail is not recommended for early season use, as snow can remain on the trail…

Basin - Valley Cr. Area

Basin Campground

Basin Campground is named for nearby Basin Pond. Offering a boat launch (non-motorized boats only), fishing and hiking, as well as picnic tables, this is a great place to stay and explore the eastern reaches of the Forest. 13 of the campgrounds 21 sites are reservable.

Basin Canyon Campground and Picnic Area

The Basin Canyon Campground is a small undeveloped campground near the Boulder River. There are two camping units at this campground. The maximum recommended trailer length for the area is 16 feet. There are day use picnic areas and toilets. There is some interesting geology in the area as well with Indian Head Rock nearby.

Basin Cascade Trailhead

The Basin Cascade trail begins on the western end of the maze of trails around the Basin, at a junction with the Pemi Trail, about 0.2 miles from the parking areas. The trail easily ascends along the very scenic Cascade Brook to its intersection with the Cascade Brook Trail, a segment of the Apalachian Trail, at 1.0 mile.
