Visitors who choose to recreate on these public lands find 164,000 miles of trails, over 30,000 recreation sites, over 5,000 miles of streams and 3 million acres of lakes, 127 alpine ski areas, 338,000 heritage sites, and specially designated sites that include 37 million acres of designated wilderness areas, 130 wild and scenic rivers, 15 monuments, and one preserve. Judith Ranger District

The Judith Ranger District office is located at 109 Central Ave in Stanford, Montana. This office provides maps and publications, and  information about the area.

Judith Station Day Use Area

Judith Station Day Use Area is located in the Helena-Lewis and Clark National Forest, adjacent to the historic Judith Guard Station.   Amenities include nearby fishing access, drinking water, and a restroom. Bears may frequent the area; keep all food out of sight in approved containers and remove all food from area after eating. Mandatory food storage is required.

Julie Creek Trailhead

The Julie Creek Trailhead is a five-acre signed site with restroom, visitor information and loading/unloading ramp for ATVs. It serves Julie Creek (#020) and Nellie’s Basin (#022) trails. It is located one mile north of Deadwood Campground and Deadwood River access. Trailhead is on the west side of Deadwood River.

Jumbo Camp Campground

This high-elevation campground is situated in lodgepole pine near a flat, open area in an historic gold mining area. It is often used by horse enthusiasts and hunters.

Jumbo Campground - Grand Valley RD

This campground is at 9800-foot elevation.  The campground is located between Jumbo and Sunset Lakes among mature spruce and aspen trees. The hilly terrain provides privacy for closely spaced sites and a challenge to drivers. Most sites have views of the lakes and are within easy walking distance. This trail passes through some old growth hemlock, and is quite level. It is a scenic trail, and the water of the Jumbo River is crystal clear.

Jumping Creek Campground sits at an elevation of 5800 feet along US Highway 89 in the Little Belt Mountains 22 miles north of White Sulphur Springs. Junction Campground

Located near the Tioga Pass entrance of Yosemite National Park, Junction Campground is at the junction of Highway 120 and Saddlebag Lake Road.  Set among pines at 9,600 ft. elevation, most of the 13 campsites have shade. Junction View is the most popular turnout along Hwy 180.  A breathtaking view of the Western Sierra, a bird-eyes view at the junction of two forks of the Kings River and glimpse into Kings Canyon. The turnout is on the westbound lane (leaving the canyon).
