Visitors who choose to recreate on these public lands find 164,000 miles of trails, over 30,000 recreation sites, over 5,000 miles of streams and 3 million acres of lakes, 127 alpine ski areas, 338,000 heritage sites, and specially designated sites that include 37 million acres of designated wilderness areas, 130 wild and scenic rivers, 15 monuments, and one preserve. Moore Creek Campground (group/family)

Moore Creek is a group campground, it can also be used as a single site family campground on an "as needed for overflow" basis by the Shasta Recreation Company, concessionaire to the Forest Service. All campsites have picnic tables, fire rings, tent pads, bear boxes and paved parking spurs.

Moore Mesa #146

The Moore Mesa Trail #146 begins at the end of Forest Service Road #531, Moore Mesa Road, and ends at an intersection with the Roubideau Pack Trail #544. Moose Creek Campground

Moose Creek Campground is located southwest of Helena, Montana.  Travel west of Helena on Highway 12 (about 8 miles) and turn south on Rimini Road #695.  This 9 unit campground is located near other Forest Service features including: rental cabin, picnic area and environmental education trail.  Also located within a short distance is access to the Continental Divide National Scenic Trail.

Moose Creek Campground - Little Belt Mountains

Moose Creek Trailhead

There is adequate parking at this trailhead - trailers included. There are no stock or comfort facilities provided. An embankment may be used to unload stock. Stock water is available along 2.5 miles of the trail from trailside streams.

Moose Flat Campground

Moose Flat Campground is located along the Greys River, 22 miles from the north end of the Greys River Road. Ten campsites accommodate trailers up to 30 feet long; visitors are limited to a 16 day stay. Pearson Creek Trailhead, which begins with a river ford, is adjacent to campground. Potable water via a hand pump and vault toilets are both available.

Moose Lake Boating Area

Moose Lake is known for producing 30-40 pound muskies. The lake also offers fishing for walleye, largemouth bass, crappies, and panfish.

Moose Lake Cabin

This Forest Service-built cabin is located on the Middle Fork of Rock Creek, close to the Anaconda Pintler Wilderness.

Moose Lake Campground

Moose Lake Picnic Area

Moose Lake Picnic Area is located approximately 26 miles southwest of Philipsburg, MT. This lakeside picnic area provides opportunities for day use picnicking, fishing, swimming, and non-motorized boating at Moose Lake. There are picnic tables, an ADA-accessible toilet, and a car-top only boat launch area. There are no garbage services and water is not available at this site so please, pack it in, pack it out.
