Windy Point Spur Snow #243

Winn Campground

Situated near the Mt. Baldy trailheads and the East and West forks of the Little Colorado River, Winn campground is an excellent choice for anglers and hikers. Some sites border a large meadow where elk are often seen at twilight. Vegetation type is mixed conifer and aspen.

A popular trailhead for access into the Pecos Wilderness and other area trails.  Located at the parking lot of Santa Fe Ski Basin.

Winsor Trailhead and Winsor Creek Fishing Area

Located 20 miles north of Pecos on NM 63, one and a half miles on FR 121. 

Winstanley Creek Buoy Trailhead

This buoy is available on a first come; first serve basis and is intended for use by small and medium watercraft. The buoy is located in 30-80 feet of water and has a 7/8 inch chain. Look for a white buoy with blue reflective tape. This buoy provides access to the Winstanley Creek trail.

Winstanley Island Cabin

This is a rustic style 12' X 14' cabin that was constructed in 2010. There are a number of scenic attractions within easy boating distance; Rudyerd Bay, Walker Cove, Chickamin River, Smeaton bay, and the entire east Behm Canal. There are several trails to fresh water streams and lakes, and hunting areas. Bring your own firewood as it cannot be guaranteed.

Winstanley Lake Cabin

This is a rustic style 12' X 14' Pan Abode log cabin that was constructed in 1967. There are many recreation opportunities in this area. Boating down to the end of the lake will take you to the historic Winstanley Lake Shelter constructed by the CCC back in the early 1930’s. Winstanley Lake Shelter Site

This historic shelter was constructed in the 1930's by the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC). This shelter is accessed by the Winstanley Lakes trail and provides users with a skiff to use on Winstanley lake. A reservable Forest Service cabin is located on the northeast shore of the lake that can be accessed using the skiff. Please return the skiff to the trailhead after use.
