Collins Campground

Collins is a quiet campground located along the shore of the Duckabush River. Several of the campsites are near the river. There are 16 campsites, 10 that will accommodate tents, trailers, and RVs. Six of the campsites are tent sites with spurs for parking. Warning: River contains swift water, rapids, and waterfalls. River is not floatable. Use extreme caution in or near the water.

Collins Cove Group Horse Campground

This primitive campground with easy access to the Virginia Highlands Horse Trail consists of two large grassy fields with wooden picnic tables, fire rings, and hitching rails.

Collins Creek Seasonal Camp

Collins Creek campground offers 36 designated campsites in an open area under a pine canopy. The surrounding forest environment provides an opportunity for many recreational activities such as wildlife and plant observation, fishing, hiking, and photography. Abundant wildlife populations provide some of the most desirable hunting areas in the upstate.

Collins Ridge Trailhead

Generally open July to November, as weather and conditions allow.  Access crosses approximately 2 miles of private land and is very rough, high clearance vehicle highly recommended. Access/entry point to the Ruby Mountains Wilderness area.

Colorado Campground

This family-oriented campground has 80 campsites with parking areas up to 30 feet long. Picnic tables, fire grates, water and trash collection are available. There is also an amphitheater. This is a standard, nonelectric site.

Colson Campground

Colson Campground closed permanently in April 2021. Please contact the Santa Lucia Ranger District for more information about the closure. The following campgrounds are open and can be accessed off Hwy 166: Bates Campground, Miranda Pine, Rock Front OHV Area (Buck Springs Campground, Paradise and Baja Campground), Horseshoe and Brookshire.

Colton Guard Station

The Colton Guard Station is located in the Colton Hollow area, approximately 5 miles west of U.S. Highway 191. It is near Vernal, Utah, in the Ashley National Forest. The Civilian Conservation Corps built the complex in 1933 as part of Franklin D. Roosevelt's New Deal instituted during the Great Depression. It was a residence for rangers who patrolled the forest on horseback prior to the age of modern vehicles.

Columbine Campground

Set along the Red River in a steep canyon, this site is at the base of the Columbine Canyon Trail with access into the Columbine-Hondo Wilderness. A parking lot for the Columbine Canyon Trail is located at the back of the campground. Restrooms and potable water are available at this site.
