Your national forests and grasslands are 193 million acres of vast, scenic beauty waiting for you to discover. Over 3 million acres of land located in 22 National Recreation Areas managed by the Forest Service is preserved for recreational activities like hiking, boating, fishing and swimming, while highlighting natural, cultural and scenic resources. Visitors who choose to recreate on these public lands find 164,000 miles of trails, over 30,000 recreation sites, over 5,000 miles of streams and 3 million acres of lakes, 127 alpine ski areas, 338,000 heritage sites, and specially designated sites that include 37 million acres of designated wilderness areas, 130 wild and scenic rivers, 15 monuments, and one preserve. Coney Creek Trailhead

Coney Creek Trailhead provides access to Coney Creek Trail - #021 which enters Cloud Peak Wilderness and travels to Coney Lake. Travelers can also take Rock Chuck Pass Trail - #418, which winds over Rock Chuck Pass to the west and Twin Lakes to the east.

Coney Flats Trailhead

Coney Flats Trailhead is at the west end of Coney Creek Road, approximately 3.5 miles west of Beaver Reservoir. Coney Creek Road is a rough, native-surface road for experienced four-wheel-drives only. There is a deep stream crossing that may be impassable at times, just east of Coney Flats. Parking is limited. Horse/Pack animals are allowed at this site. Certified weed-free hay is required.

Confederate Breastworks Interpretive Site

A popular scenic viewing area for fall foliage, this winding 0.5 mile interpretive trail meanders along the top of Shenandoah Mountain. Relive the events of April 1862 through the letters of Captain Shepherd Pryor, a member of the 12th Georgia Regiment, to his wife. This is also a popular access point to the gently rolling Shenandoah Mountain Trail, and Ramseys Draft Wilderness.

Conger Lake

Conger Lake is a 5.3 acre, 10' deep lake built for fish propagation and irrigation. Leisurely kayaking is great here.

Conger Pond

Conger Pond is a 3.2 acre, 10' deep lake that is surrounded by a beautiful, dense coniferous forest.

Conglomerate Waterfalls

Located just 11 1/2 miles northwest of Bessemer, Mi. these waterfalls can be accessed by a 3/4 mile hiking trail from a paved parking lot. The hiking trail drops steadily as you near the riverbank. Conklin Park Campground

This campground sustained severe damage from the Dixie Fire in 2021. This nine unit campground is located approximately eight miles northwest of Frenchman Lake.  This is a quiet campground situated along a small creek. Vault toilets, tables, fire rings and food lockers are provided.  There is no water or garbage service. Pack out all trash.

Connector To Bowen Loop #1848

The Connector To Bowen Loop trail is 1.7 miles long. It begins at Forest Trail 1847 and ends at Forest Road 631. The trail is open for the following uses: Hiking and Horseback Riding

Conner's Camp Day Use

Conner’s Camp is a great day use area that provides views of the Cascade Mountains, picnic areas, and hiking trails. Set among large noble fir and Douglas-fir this site is excellent for preparing a rugged hike up Marys Peak or resting after a day's hike.

Conrad Crossing Campground

Conrad Crossing Campground features 8 camp units (2 on the river and 5 above the highway), potable water (June-October), vault toilets, and a day use area. Please observe the Pack it In Pack it Out refuse policy. Attractions include historic Montana Trail, St. Joe Wild and Scenic River, fishing, and floating until mid June. Raft access.

The Big Park Trailhead provides access to Trail #010 into the Contag Creek drainage, Mule Meadow, and the east side of Mt. Isabel.

Convict Boat Ramp

The marina includes rental boats and boat dock. Paved boat ramp and trailer parking are near the bait shop. Boats longer than 25 feet would have difficulty navigating between the ramp and breakwater. Convict Lake is a no wake lake.    The end of south shore road has beach access to launch canoes, kayaks or paddleboards.
