Over 3 million acres of land located in 22 National Recreation Areas managed by the Forest Service is preserved for recreational activities like hiking, boating, fishing and swimming, while highlighting natural, cultural and scenic resources. Visitors who choose to recreate on these public lands find 164,000 miles of trails, over 30,000 recreation sites, over 5,000 miles of streams and 3 million acres of lakes, 127 alpine ski areas, 338,000 heritage sites, and specially designated sites that include 37 million acres of designated wilderness areas, 130 wild and scenic rivers, 15 monuments, and one preserve. Arbo/Wee Lake Trailhead #196/#553

This trail leads to Skyline National Recreation Trail #706. The trail follows an old road bed for about 3.5 miles before entering into the Saddle Mountain Inventoried Roadless Area (IRA).  The 1991 Arbo fire burned through this area making for a diverse landscape. Arbuckle Flat Boat-In Campground

Arbuckle Flat is one of four boat-access only campgrounds on Shasta lake.  Located far up the Pit Arm of the lake, this facility is very popular with those visitors who want to get away from the crowds.  Whether or not the access is difficult varies depends on the current lake level. There are vault toilets and no piped water. This is a "pack it in, pack it out" facility.

Arch Dam Group Campground

Arch Dam Campground is a popular location for family reunions, church outings and other large gatherings. It is located on the Ashley National Forest within the Flaming Gorge National Recreation Area. Flaming Gorge Dam and the Green River Spillway are less than a mile away. Dump stations are located at Antelope Flat, Deer Run, Firefighters, and Lodgepole. A fee is charged.

Armstrong Campground is a small but beautiful place to camp, right on the edge of the Clackamas Wild and Scenic River.
