Fir Mountain #320

This 3.8 mile round trip trail is very steep in and out hike with a 2,142 foot elevation gain in a little under 2 miles and is rated most difficult. Once the effort has been taken, a great view of the surrounding area is available. The Fir Mountain Lookout was located at the end of the trail, but has since been taken down. The trailhead is located about 1 mile from the Sweat Creek Pinic Area.

Firebox #245

The Firebox Trail #245 begins at an intersection with the Alpine Trail and ends at Forest Service Road #864. The trail travels through the Firebox drainage, paralleling Firebox Creek for its entire length. It also parallels Forest Service Road #864 until it intersects at a switchback in the road and comes to an end. This is a popular trail during big game hunting season.

Firefighters Memorial Campground

Firefighters Campground is just 3 miles from beautiful Flaming Gorge Reservoir, within the Flaming Gorge National Recreation Area on the Ashley National Forest. First Fork (727)

First Fork Trail #727 is excellent during late spring through mid-fall, due to its relatively low elevation and southeast-facing slopes. The trail winds through timber on the lower section, but opens up farther along the trail. The trail follows a stream, which is crossed several times.
