Visitors who choose to recreate on these public lands find 164,000 miles of trails, over 30,000 recreation sites, over 5,000 miles of streams and 3 million acres of lakes, 127 alpine ski areas, 338,000 heritage sites, and specially designated sites that include 37 million acres of designated wilderness areas, 130 wild and scenic rivers, 15 monuments, and one preserve. Little Sunlight Camping Area

Little Taylor (205)

Little Talyor Trail (205) is a primitive trail follows the general path of Little Taylor Creek.  The trail starts at the Taylor Mesa road immediately crossing the creek and climbing though an aspen forest adjacent to Taylor creek.  This trail receives little use and may be hard to follow past the first mile.  Look for blazes and cairns. Little Tesuque Picnic Site

Little Tesuque Picnic Site was renovated in 2011.  There is a vault toilet, individual and group picnic sites.  It is the first Forest Service Picnic site as you travel up Hyde Park Road. 

Little Therriault Lake

The Little Therriault Lake campground is located 12.5 air miles from Fortine. The campground has 6 sites with tables and fire rings and able to accommodate up to a 32' rv. Amenities include potable water, vault toilets, food storage boxes and an undeveloped boat access (pack boats).

Little Thunder Reservoir

This is a warm-water fishery with small-mouth bass and blue gill.

Little Tiffany Lake

Remote, high mountain lake accessible by backcountry travel, hike-in only. Shoreline fishing for Cutthroat Trout. The last time the lake was stocked was in 2012.

Easy to More Difficult trails depending on length and trail selected.  Terrain: Generally comprised of gentle slopes.  Use: Heavy snowmobile use. Because of snowmobile use, ski use is not recommended.  Use of wheeled vehicles on snowmobile routes is prohibited.  Topographic maps: Sierraville, Sattley, Independence Lake and English Mountain  

Little Twin Lakes

Little Twin Lakes totals 49 acres and is 27' deep. This secluded lake is excellent for kayaking and canoeing.

Little Twin Lakes Campground

The campground is on both sides of the lake. Camping sites are nice and big and private from others. It's very private and great for wildlife viewing. The day use is a wildlife viewing areas with a great view.  

Little Walnut East Group Area

Little Walnut-Gomez Peak Day Use Area

Located just outside Silver City, the Little Walnut-Gomez Peak picnic grounds provide a pleasant day use area for small or large groups and individuals/families. The area is generally open from 8:00 a.m. until sunset during spring, summer and fall; winter hours vary according to weather conditions. Little Wambaw Swamp Wilderness

Little Wambaw Swamp Wilderness (5,047 ac) features wild orchids, pickerel weed and bladderwort as part of its dense understory. Little Weiser River Area, Council Ranger District

From Hwy 95 south of the town of Council, turn east on Indian Valley Road. Continue onto Forest Road #206 and travel approximately 16 miles to this area. Snuggled in the mountains to the east of Indian Valley, Big Flat Campground sits on the edge of the Little Weiser River. Trail #515, Little Weiser River follows the river’s course, with a trailhead located along Road #206.

Little West Fork Morgan Creek Trailhead

One site with picnic table and fire ring, near trail access to Frank Church River of No Return Wilderness. Camp area amenities include a vault toilet. No drinking water or garbage service is on site.

Little West Fork Snowmobile Trailhead

Little West Fork Trailhead offers adequate parking for cars and trailers. In the winter it is a popular snowmobile starting point and in the summer offers dispersed camping. Facilities include a wooden out house

Live Oak Day Use Picnic Area

The Live Oak Day Use Area is on Paradise Road 7.0 miles from Highway 154.  Live Oak Day Use Area includes 59 parking spaces, 33 picnic tables and 33 pedestal grills.  There are two vault toilet buildings. Water is not provided. All sites are fully accessible.  The Santa Ynez River is adjacent to Live Oak Day Use Area.  Area amenities: Picnic tables, BBQs, Parking, trash, water play.

Live Oak Group Campground

This campground is part of the Lake Isabella complex. Some of the features include restrooms with showers and potable water. The sites have picnic tables and fire rings.
