Eriophyllum lanatum var. hallii, Fort Tejon woolly sunflower. In the genus Eriophyllum, each flower head has a single series of involucre bracts, also called phyllaries that are of equal length. Note the head at upper right with ray flowers beginning to unfurl. The daisy-like flower heads clearly mark this plant as a member of the sunflower family. Photo by Korey M. Klutz.
