Statement from Forest Service Chief Tom Schultz on Wildland Firefighter Pay Reform
U.S. Department of Agriculture's Forest Service Chief Tom Schultz today issued the following statement on the passage of H.R.1968 - Full-Year Continuing Appropriations and Extensions Act, 2025.
“I am deeply grateful to Congress for passing the continuing resolution and making the wildland firefighter pay reform a reality,” said Forest Service Chief Tom Schultz. “This is critical to ensure wildland firefighters receive the pay and recognition they have long deserved. With this step forward, the Forest Service is committed to implementing these changes seamlessly and continuing to support the courageous women and men who protect our nation.”
