Over 3 million acres of land located in 22 National Recreation Areas managed by the Forest Service is preserved for recreational activities like hiking, boating, fishing and swimming, while highlighting natural, cultural and scenic resources. Visitors who choose to recreate on these public lands find 164,000 miles of trails, over 30,000 recreation sites, over 5,000 miles of streams and 3 million acres of lakes, 127 alpine ski areas, 338,000 heritage sites, and specially designated sites that include 37 million acres of designated wilderness areas, 130 wild and scenic rivers, 15 monuments, and one preserve. Crow Valley Recreation Area

Crow Valley Recreation Area is set in the Pawnee National Grassland, a very popular site with bird enthusiasts. Over 200 species can be found in the area. This oasis on the prairie has cottonwoods which provide some shade and small meadows and is surrounded by northeastern Colorado's short-grass prairie. There are ample opportunities for sports and recreation for the whole family.

Crowe Gulch Picnic Area

A picnic ground located 3 miles up Pikes Peak Highway. Crowe Gulch is off of Pikes Peak Highway and will require admission fee to access. Picnic area is access point to Mt. Ester Trail (754). Day Use Only.

Crowell Ridge #515

This trail is part of the Salmo-Priest Wilderness Area. The wilderness area has some of the most spectacular scenery in northeastern Washington.  Trail follows an almost treeless ridge.  Good hiking boots are recommended for travel on this rocky trail. Trail system has two trailheads: NFS Road 2212245 (Sullivan Mountain-east end) and NFS Road 2212200 (Bear Pasture-west end).

Crown King Area (Horsethief Basin)

Horsethief Basin Recreation Area offers a variety of recreational opportunities including: hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, camping, fishing, and OHV riding. Castle Creek Wilderness is located nearby, and Horsethief Cabin and Turney Gulch Group Campground are available by reservation. Crystal Creek Campground

Crystal Creek is a small campground near Mud Lake with three camping units, a toilet, and fishing access. There are no garbage services so please pack it in, pack it out. The recommended trailer length is no greater than 16 feet. There is no fee for this campsite.

Crystal Park Picnic and Mineral Collection Area

Crystal Park is a unique recreation area at an elevation of 7,800 feet in the Pioneer Mountains in southwest Montana. Crystal Park is open for day use only and has a fee per person. Facilities include 3 picnic sites with tables and grills, information signs, toilets, and a paved trail with benches as well as an overlook. The facilities are designed to be universally accessible (ADA).

Crystal Peak #583

The Crystal Peak Trail #583 begins at Cement Creek Road, FSR #740 and ends at its intersection with the Brush Creek Trail #400.  This trail is mostly above treeline and climbs approximately 1,000 vertical feet in the just 2 miles.
