Over 3 million acres of land located in 22 National Recreation Areas managed by the Forest Service is preserved for recreational activities like hiking, boating, fishing and swimming, while highlighting natural, cultural and scenic resources. Visitors who choose to recreate on these public lands find 164,000 miles of trails, over 30,000 recreation sites, over 5,000 miles of streams and 3 million acres of lakes, 127 alpine ski areas, 338,000 heritage sites, and specially designated sites that include 37 million acres of designated wilderness areas, 130 wild and scenic rivers, 15 monuments, and one preserve. Crystal Springs Day Use Area

Crystal Springs Day Use Area is located 45 minutes northwest of Klamath Falls, Oregon. This small day use area is a good place to relax, take a break from your road trip, or picnic.  This day use area features a few picnic tables, fire rings, an interpretive area, and one vaulted toilet. Alert: No potable water. Visitors need to bring an adequate supply of water.

Crystal Springs Sno-Park

Crystal Springs is a shared-use Sno-Park managed by WA State Parks. More information can be found on the Washington State Parks Winter Recreation website. The gravel pit near the Sno-Park is closed to sledding and snow play activity.  

Cub Creek Trailhead

The Cub Creek Trailhead is located south of Evergreen. It provides access to the Cub Creek Trail (#40).

Cub Creek Trailhead #734

Cub Creek Trail #734 starts at Big Beaver Creek and follows a small ridgeline above Cub Creek and ends on FSR 2262D. The road is closed yearlong making the trail accessible from the bottom trailhead only. Motorized vehicles: Motorcycle use is allowed on Cub Creek Trail #734. Cub River Guard Station

Cub River Guard Station was established in 1907, and the first cabin was built in 1909 about a mile from the current site. This cabin was short-lived, and a second structure was built in 1922 and used until 1934. A third structure occupied this area after that until it burned down in 1957. Cuchara Day Use Picnic Area

Cuchara Day Use Picnic Area has 13 picnic sites, restrooms and a trash dumpster. There are no hiking trails close by. There is stream fishing opportunities in Cucharas Creek.
