Your national forests and grasslands are 193 million acres of vast, scenic beauty waiting for you to discover. Over 3 million acres of land located in 22 National Recreation Areas managed by the Forest Service is preserved for recreational activities like hiking, boating, fishing and swimming, while highlighting natural, cultural and scenic resources. Visitors who choose to recreate on these public lands find 164,000 miles of trails, over 30,000 recreation sites, over 5,000 miles of streams and 3 million acres of lakes, 127 alpine ski areas, 338,000 heritage sites, and specially designated sites that include 37 million acres of designated wilderness areas, 130 wild and scenic rivers, 15 monuments, and one preserve. Indian Valley Campground

Indian Valley Campground is located on the north bank of the North Yuba River along Hwy 49 about 15 miles north of Camptonville. There are 19 campsites with vault toilets and piped water. It is surrounded by oak, fir, pine, and madrone trees. Access to the North Yuba Trail.

Indian Vista Scenic Overlook

This scenic viewpoint is on Highway 243, 9.5 miles northwest of Idyllwild. Watch for songbirds in the chaparral and oak trees and red-tailed hawks and ravens soaring above. In the warmer months a variety of lizards sun themselves on the rocks. If you are lucky (and patient) you may see deer, bobcat, gray fox, and coyote.

Indian-Celina Lakes Recreation Area

Indian-Celina Lakes Recreation Area is located two miles south of Interstate 64 off Indiana 37. Indigo Springs Campground

This small, three site tent-only campground is surrounded by a fine stand of old growth Douglas-fir. The springs for which the camp was named originates nearby along an easy, 500' round trip loop trail. Initial Creek Campground

This free campground is located on the West Fork Stillwater Road and is near the West Fork Stillwater Trail (#90). Initial Point

Initial Point marks the initial survey point for Indiana. Ebenezer Buckingham Jr. surveyed west to establish the original wooden post on September 1, 1805. This point represents the intersection of the Base Line with the 2nd Principal Meridian. The 1st Principal Meridian is the boundary line between Ohio and Indiana. Initial Rock

Custer's three camps are marked along the way, and at one camp on the evening of May 28, 1876, the initials of  two of the privates were carved on a sandstone boulder now known as Initial Rock. This was Custer's one-way route to his demise at the Battle of the Little Bighorn.   W.C. Williams, Company H, and F. Neely, Company M, who left their initials in the sandstone rock, were with the expedition.

Inspiration Point Trailhead

This trailhead has a view of Mt. Baldy and San Gabriel Canyon.  There is a vault toilet, Pacific Crest Trail (PCT) access, picnic table, and equestrian parking.  

Intake 2 Campground

Known for the fishing, Intake 2 is a small lake along the road to Lake Sabrina, just past the South Lake turn off. There are 5 walk in sites on the west shore of the lake and 11 sites suitable for small vehicles near the creek above Intake 2.

Intake Campground

Intake Campground is located southwest of Grantsville, Utah, in South Willow Canyon at an elevation of 6,320 feet. It’s located in the Stansbury Range where visitors enjoy exploring local trails. Leashed pets are permitted in this campground.  

Inter-Ocean Pass #890
