Mavreeso trail is a 5.8 mile, non-motorized trail used by hikers, horseback and mountain bikers, as well as hunters to access the popular Nipple Mountain area. The trail follows close to the creek and passes through apsen groves and gamble oaks and by several reservoirs in the area.

Mavreeso Campground, located along the West Dolores River has 19 beautifully situated campsites. Many of the campsites are along the river and most are level. There are 12 reservable sites, 5 sites with electrical hookups. Several have shady tent areas beneath spruce and fir. There are pull-throughs for RVs. All campsites have tables that accommodate wheelchairs.

One of the busier sno-parks in the Santiam winter recreation area, Maxwell Sno-Park is located 3.5 miles west of Santiam Junction on state Highway 22. There is 25 miles of trails from easy to more difficult. Some trails through old growth forest and some offer views of Maxwell Butte, Three Finger Jack and Duffy Butte.

This campground is located off Highway 43 located on a relatively flat ground supporting a dense stand of lodgepole pine. This campsite is equipped with ADA-accessible toilets. May Queen Campground
May Queen Campground has 27 sites and is located at the far western end of Turquoise Lake in a shaded lodgepole pine forest at an elevation of 9,900 feet. It is near the Charles Boustead Memorial Tunnel and adjacent to a day use/picnic area, which offers easy angler access to the lake. You can also access the Turquoise Lake Nature Trail for a leisurely walk around the lake.
Mayflower Gulch TH #1178
The road initially climbs through a spruce/fir forest before reaching open alpine terrain at some old mining cabins. It offers a spectacular view of the upper part of Mayflower Gulch.
Mayhill Lookout
The Mayhill Lookout was moved in 1967 to James Ridge, and is now known as the James Ridge Lookout. The Mayhill Lookout was constructed in 1935, and was part of the Mayhill Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) camp F-24-N which constructed permanent buildings in 1934. Mazama Viewpoint
Mazama Viewpoint provides a panoramic view of the mountains surrounding Crater Lake National Park. It also provides access to the Boundary Springs Trail (the source of the Rogue River), as well as the Upper Rogue trails.
Mazourka Canyon
This is a day long adventure or dispersed camping trip, no water or facilities along this route. Vehicles should be high clearance 4WD, portions of this road are steep and rocky. McAllister Gulch Road #708 begins at Camp Hale and ends at Shrine Pass Road #709. This is a rough 4WD road that requires a high-clearance 4WD vehicle. It does provide excellent views near the top of both Resolution Mountain and Hornsilver Mountain.
McAllister Picnic Area
In 1930, Bob McAllister established this area as a mining claim and home site. There is evidence of a dam which was designed to collect water for his house and orchard. Some fruit trees he planted are still there. The Forest Service acquired the land in 1968 and created the McAllister Recreation Site in 1969. McBride Campground
McBride Campground is a small campground located along Brooks Ditch with lots of shade provided by a mixed pine-fir forest. The campground is popular in the Summer with local campers and berry pickers, and in the Fall for hunters.
