Red Diamond Group Campground

Camping groups looking for a more rustic riverside experience will enjoy Red Diamond Campground. This small site is located adjacent to the South Fork of the McKenzie River and offers a quiet, primitive setting. The campground which accommodates up to 25 people and 10 vehicles provides plenty of shade for warm, summer days. Red Dirt National Wildlife Management Preserve (NW

Visitors to Red Dirt can find 38,450 acres of forest featuring some of the most unusually steep and rugged terrain to be found in Louisiana. The Preserve is a popular area for various hunting opportunities. Seasonal designated camping areas or Hunter Camps are established in and around the management preserve during hunting season.

Red Dirt Reservoir Recreation Area

Red Dirt Reservoir is located in the Gore Pass area off HWY134 in the Routt National Forest. It is approximately 40 miles east of Yampa in between the towns of Yampa and Kremmling. This small area offers dispersed camping at the reservoir and rainbow trout fishing. There are no water or trash services, please pack out what you pack in. Red Elephant Point Road #211.2A

The Red Elephant Point trail is 5.6 miles long. It begins at Forest Road 211 and ends at Forest Road 837.1a. The trail isauthorized for full sized high clearance street legal vehicles; ohv, horse and foot traffic. Summer use ends November 23 annually. Winter use begins when snow is sufficient and ends appx. May 20.

Red Feather Campground

This campground has 60 reservable sites near the lake including 12 prime lakeside sites. Campground amenities include seasonal host, water, flush toilets and trash service along with paved roads. Campsite amenities include picnic tables, fire ring and paved parking pad. Fishing, day hiking, nature viewing and water recreation are some of the local attractions

Red Fir Flat Group Campground

Red Fir Flat Group Campground is located on the southern slope of Mt. Shasta at 6,400 feet in elevation. Snowpack in this location may extend into late June on heavy snow years, and usually sees late season snowfall in early November, possibly October. It is a popular site for meditation/retreat groups. Maximum stay limit is 7 days per group and or indvidual(s).

Red Fir Group Campground

CAUTION: There are bears in the area. Please keep all foods, soaps, and garbage properly stored in bear boxes. Tents only – No trailers or motor homes. Keep the gate closed or visitors will wander in. Gate combination is issued when reservations are finalized.

Red Hill Lookout Viewpoint

Located next to the fire lookout tower, the Red Hill Lookout Viewpoint offers spectacular views of the rolling forested mountains and distant Wallowa Valley. The site has minimal facilities.

Red Hill Trailhead

**NOTICE** The Northwest portion of the Blue Range Primitive Area where this trail is located has been severely affected by the Wallow Fire of June 2011. Red Hills Lake: (409) 625-1940

Red Hill Lake is CLOSED for the season effective 11/01/2024 Red Hills Lake is located a short distance from Toledo Bend Reservoir. Completed in 1940 by the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC), this area offers camping, fishing and swimming on a picturesque 19-acre lake.

The Red Ives Information Center features forest information and restrooms. Attractions include historic buildings and the very popular Red Ives Cabin rental as well as fishing, hunting, camping and many hiking, equestrian and motorized trail opportunities.

Red Lake Cutoff Trailhead - Trail # 733.2 (part)

The Red Lake Cutoff trail is actually part of the Dipping Lakes Cutoff Trail 733.2.  It is 0.8 miles long from its junction with Trail 736 and its termination at Red Lake Trail 733.  The trail is open for the following uses: Horseback riding, hiking, and backpacking.

Red Lake Trailhead

The Forest Service designed Red Lake Trailhead for a family experience. The OHV trails travel across old logging roads and through scenic Aspen groves that are particularly nice in the fall. The trails also allow for riders to park their OHVs and access hiking routes, such as Buzzards Roost, that overlook the Spearfish Canyon. Red Lake Trailhead, Trail #733

The Red Lake trailhead is on FDR 114, approx. 2 1/4 miles from Highway 17. The parking area is large enough to accommodate horse trailers and other vehicles. There is also another smaller turnaround on FDR 114 at the dead end.

Red Mailbox Campsite

Heavily used by hunters, Red Mailbox Campsite provides camp pads, a corral and loading ramp. The site got its name from the historic, large red "mailbox" at the site which was used to deliver mail to outlying ranchers in years past.

Red Metal Trailhead

Red Mountain Fire Lookout

Red Mountain Mining Interpretive Site

Red Mountain Mining Overlook is a popular stopping point on the San Juan Scenic Byway (State Highway 550) between Durango, CO and Ouray, CO.
