South Iron Springs Group Site

Iron Springs Group Campground is located approximately five miles off US Highway 191. This campground is accessed from Red Cloud Loop Scenic Backway, next to a grassy meadow bordered by shady pines and aspens. Sagebrush and summer wildflowers dot the meadow, and ATV trails crisscross the area.

South Jetty sand camping sites are located directly on the sand, dispersed along the coast and the Siltcoos River and must be accessed by 4X4 vehicles only. This small parking area is on the east side of South Jetty road and provides an area for birdwatching. 

South Kawishiwi River Campground

This campground offers a variety of opportunities for campers including fishing, hiking, mountain biking, canoeing, boating, and bird watching. Sites sit well above the river. The historic log pavilion was built by the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) in 1933 and is available for rent (see below).  Downloadable map and information.

South Lake Como Boating Site

Lake Como Boat Launch Site, located within the Lake Como Recreation Area.  Provides parking for boat trailers.  A wider and longer dock and a second ramp allows for recreationists to safely and easily launch their watercraft off of either side of the dock.  Depending on lake levels and weather conditions the boat dock is installed between May 15 and June 1.

South Lake Day Use Boating Site

Providing access to South Lake Day Use Boating Site includes a launch ramp, marina, boat rentals and a small tackle shop.

South Lake Dispersed Area

At an elevation of 2400 feet, this area offers dispersed camping along the northern edge of the lake. The lake is stocked periodically with rainbow trout. There is access for launching non-motorized boats.  A vault toilet is provided but no potable water. It is also the eastern trailhead of the Pioneer – Indian Trail.

South Lava OHV Staging Area

Provides access to: East Fort Rock OHV Trail system. South Lava OHV Staging area is located on the south end of the East Fort Rock OHV Trail system. South McAvity Bay Boat Area

A concrete boat ramp provides access to the 2852 acre Cut Foot Sioux Lake. Cut Foot Sioux Lake is located north of Minnesota Highway 46 and the boat site is on the northeast side of the lake, in McAvity Bay, near Williams Narrows Campground. Northern pike, walleye, cisco, bass and panfish are found in this lake.

South Meadows Campground

This campground is located approximately 5 miles north of Woodland Park. There are paved roads within the campground connecting the 64 sites. Each site has a fire ring and picnic table. This campground is adjacent to the Centennial Trail, a paved trail between Manitou Lake and the town of Woodland Park. This is a standard, non-electric campground.
