WEST SIDE - All trails and picnic sites on the west side of the Sandia Mountain Range.

West Side Plateau

The West Side Plateau includes Big Meadow, Cannel Meadow, Bartolas, Taylor Meadow, and Rattlesnake Meadow. OHV and Mountain biking are popular in this area. It also has rock climbing opportunities at Church Dome. The historic Cannell Cabin is located within the West Side and served as the original ranger station for the area.

West Side Railroad Grade

Trailhead at Miramonte subdivision on Cottonwood Road, one mile east of downtown Tuolumne City. Enjoy an easy walk along the historic Westside railroad grade, overlooking the Tuolumne River Canyon. Springtime walk offers wildflowers galore. NO DRINKING WATER availible after parking area. Closed to motorized vehicles.

West Side Shooting Range

This site offers both rifle and handgun shooting ranges with covered shooting platforms and benches. Eight lanes are available. Shotguns, clay or skeet shooting is prohibited. Please bring your own paper targets and clean up your targets, trash, and casings before leaving.

West South Twin Campground is located between two lakes, Wickiup Reservoir and South Twin Lake. This campground offers fishing opportunities. There is a boat launch area within this campground.

West Sullivan Campground

West Sullivan Campground is located at the north end of beautiful Sullivan Lake.  It is suitable for tent, trailers, and small RV's. Campsites are near the lake. The day use area has picnic spots.

West Swan Lake Cabin

A 12 x 14-foot rustic cabin overlooking the western end of Swan Lake. Set in an open grove of cottonwoods with views of nearby mountains. Access is limited in the summer and visitation is light. This cabin sleeps 6, and has a table, wood stove, splitting maul, crosscut saw, outhouse, and rowboat with oars.  Not included: running water, electricity, mattresses or bedding, cooking utensils, or cut firewood.

West Table Boating Site

West Table boat ramp is the busiest boat ramp on the river except for maybe Sheep Gulch boat ramp (at the end of the whitewater section). West Table is where most visitors put-in their boats in order to experience the "Grand Canyon of the Snake" and the entirety of the whitewater section of the Snake River.
