Fraser Experimental Forest
Established in 1937 by the Forest Service, the Fraser Experimental Forest comprises 23,000 acres. This outdoor research laboratory was first established to study the relationship between forest management and water yield. Today, the Fraser Experimental Forest is a site for research on silviculture, riparian habitats, invasives, insects, soils, and other topics, in addition to water quantity and quality.

Fraser River
This is a quaint, 0.8 mile (one-way) paved trail that follows the Fraser River. It is good for walking and road cycling.
Frater Lake
Frater Lake is an 11 acre, 15’ deep lake, known for excellent summer and winter Sno-Park recreation opportunities.
History:Frater Lake was named after an early trapper in the area while nearby Lake Leo was name for the son of Claude Sanders, and early surveyor.
The warming cabin was built by Forest Service employees and a Senior Citizen Supplemental Employment Program (SCSEP) crew.
Frater Lake #150/Lake Leo #155
The Frater Lake Trail system includes a series of loop trails. The 1.8 Tiger Loop follows the southern and eastern shores of Frater Lake. A clockwise travel direction is suggested for the steeper 4.8 mile Coyote Loop. The 2.8 Lake Leo Trail and the 1.7 Lions Tail Trail are shorter loops. A picnic area and warming cabin are located near Frater Lake. The cabin is open all year and is available for day use only…

Frazier Campground
Located near the headwaters of Frazier Creek, this campground offers a calm setting among tall grasses and large ponderosa pine trees. There are ten campsites within this facility and each offers a picnic table, fire pit/grill and variously sized parking spurs. Most recreational vehicles or cars with trailers should not have trouble parking in the campsites here.

Frazier Group Campground

Frazier Horse Camp
Several miles of hiking and horse riding trails are accessible from the site. Horses are allowed at this site, and can be ridden south on the Cottonwood Canyon Trail to access the Arizona Trail. There are 11 camp units w/ shade ramadas, fire rings w/ grills, picnic tables, potable water hydrants and a toilet building.

Fred Burr Trailhead
Fred Burr Trailhead has adequate parking for both cars and trailers. It offers access to Fred Burr Trail #38, Fred Burr Res, Fred Burr Lake and the Selway-Bitterroot Wilderness. Facilities include a vault toilet, hitching rails and a stock ramp.
