Your national forests and grasslands are 193 million acres of vast, scenic beauty waiting for you to discover. Over 3 million acres of land located in 22 National Recreation Areas managed by the Forest Service is preserved for recreational activities like hiking, boating, fishing and swimming, while highlighting natural, cultural and scenic resources. Visitors who choose to recreate on these public lands find 164,000 miles of trails, over 30,000 recreation sites, over 5,000 miles of streams and 3 million acres of lakes, 127 alpine ski areas, 338,000 heritage sites, and specially designated sites that include 37 million acres of designated wilderness areas, 130 wild and scenic rivers, 15 monuments, and one preserve. Lake Jumper

North of Forest Corners off CR 314-A, Lake Jumper is a moderate sized lake just to the south of Lake Lou. Access is for both boating and fishing. Four-wheel drive is recommended. 

Lake Keechelus Boating Site and Picnic Area

The boat ramp is closed due to low water. The closure order may be found here. This boat ramp and picnic area also provides access to Lake Keechelus Trail. There is a trailhead nearby for the Iron Horse Trail (Washington State Rails to Trails).

Lake Keokee Day Use Area

Visitors to Lake Keokee Day Use Area enjoy a universally accessible fishing trail and pier.

Lake Lane Trailhead

Provides access to: Lakeshore Trail which is the lakeside portion of the Quinault Loop Trail #854. This trailhead is located on Lake Lane Road just west of Lake Quinault Lodge. 

Lake Leander Picnic Area

Lake Leander is a popular swimming area and picnic area for local residents as well as visitors. The picnic area and swimming beach is located on the southern shore of Lake Leander. Large red pines tower over this site along the lake shore.  Downloadable information and map.

Lake Leo

This lake is a popular one set in low wooded hills. Visitors, in addition to fishing, come to the lake for camping, swimming, and canoeing. In the winter, cross country skiing is available along groomed trails. 

Lake Leo Campground

Campsites are nice; some are private with lake views and others closer together.

Lake Lillian

USGS Quad: Dromedary Peak. This body of water is part of the Big Cottonwood drainage.

Lake Lou

Southeast of Lake Eaton and north of Lake Jumper, Lake Lou is a smaller lake to the east of CR 314-A with unimproved access for fishing and boating.

Lake Martha

USGS Quad: Brighton. This body of water is part of the Big Cottonwood drainage.

Lake Marvin Boating Site

Located northeast of Canadian, Texas, Lake Marvin offers boating, camping and fishing opportunities.

Lake Marvin Campground

Lake Marvin Campground has 12 camping units and is situated at an elevation of 2,000 feet.

Lake Mary

USGS Quad: Brighton. This body of water is part of the Big Cottonwood drainage.

Lake Mary

Lake Mary is a large lake in the southern portion of the Ocala National Forest, off unimproved roads south of the end of CR 314-A past Moss Bluff and Meador's Corner. It is north of Lake Catherine and Doe Lake and is a remote place for boating and fishing. 

Lake Mary Campground

Mammoth Lakes Basin is located through town, just 5 to 10 minutes drive. The campground is on both sides of the road near the Northwest end of Lake Mary. 48 Campsites.

Lake Mary Recreation Corridor

Lake McClellan Campground

This campground is situated at an elevation of 3,500 feet.  There are 60 camping units.  The lake, which is in the background of the image, is currently dry.

Lake McClellan UTV/ATV Area Trailhead

The Lake McClellan UTV/ATV Area Trailhead is located outside of the Lake McClellan Campground. This multiple-use trail system is approximately 10 miles in length with a difficulty rating of light to moderate.

Lake Michigan Beach Acess

The recreation sites in this area are all located on the Lake Michigan shoreline or within driving distance of the lake. Nordhouse Dunes Wilderness Area is the only designated wilderness on the Huron-Manistee National Forests.  Adjacent to the wilderness area is the popular Lake Michigan Recreation Area.  Further inland visitors can go to Hoags Lake and enjoy a day of swimming, picnicking or fishing.

Lake Michigan Campground
