Over 3 million acres of land located in 22 National Recreation Areas managed by the Forest Service is preserved for recreational activities like hiking, boating, fishing and swimming, while highlighting natural, cultural and scenic resources. Visitors who choose to recreate on these public lands find 164,000 miles of trails, over 30,000 recreation sites, over 5,000 miles of streams and 3 million acres of lakes, 127 alpine ski areas, 338,000 heritage sites, and specially designated sites that include 37 million acres of designated wilderness areas, 130 wild and scenic rivers, 15 monuments, and one preserve. Lahar Viewpoint Interpretive Site

This 1980 mudflow area offers an outstanding view of Mount St. Helen’s (non-crater) south side. Lake 13 Boat Area

A concrete boat ramp provides access to the 470 acres of Lake 13. Lake 13 is three miles east of MN Highway 371. Bluegill, walleye, northern pike and other panfish are found in this lake.

Lake Alice Campground

Lake Alice Campground has 9 campsites and is a 1.5 mile hike east from the Hobble Creek Campground. Lake Alice provides beautiful views, fishing and a variety of hiking and horseback opportunities to visitors. Visitors are strongly encouraged to practice clean camping techniques and to store attractants (e.g. food, toothpaste) in a manner that makes them unavailable to bears.

Lake Alice Picnic Area

Enjoy a picnic by Lake Alice and take in the beautiful views and great fishing. The Lake Alice Picnic Area is a short hike, 1.5 miles, away from Hobble Creek Campground and Trailhead.

Lake Alva Campground

Situated at the north end of Lake Alva, this campground offers a chance to camp out and enjoy lake activities such as swimming, fishing and boating. Lake Andrusia Boat Site

Lake Blue Ridge Recreation Area

Lake Blue Ridge Recreation Area is located on the west side of Blue Ridge Lake in Blue Ridge, GA. The lake is a 3,290 acre Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) reservoir. Blue Ridge Lake offers boating, skiing and fishing. The lake is home to bass, bream, catfish, perch and crappie, which makes the area popular with anglers.

Lake Bryant

Lake Bryant is one of the larger lakes in the Ocala National Forest, very popular for boating and fishing. Access is via a commercially operated ramp south of SR 40 along Levy Hammock Road (SW 183rd Ave Road), just west of Halfmoon Lake.

Lake Buffalo is a 22-acre lake that offers fishermen a quiet retreat. It is regularly stocked with trout by the West Virginia Division of Natural Resources.
