Over 3 million acres of land located in 22 National Recreation Areas managed by the Forest Service is preserved for recreational activities like hiking, boating, fishing and swimming, while highlighting natural, cultural and scenic resources. Visitors who choose to recreate on these public lands find 164,000 miles of trails, over 30,000 recreation sites, over 5,000 miles of streams and 3 million acres of lakes, 127 alpine ski areas, 338,000 heritage sites, and specially designated sites that include 37 million acres of designated wilderness areas, 130 wild and scenic rivers, 15 monuments, and one preserve. Spring Creek Group Picnic Site

Day use only reservation site good for parties of 25 - 100. Site has a group fire ring with benches, tables, and a vault toilet. Next to the Spring Creek Campground. Parking available for about 25 cars. Check availability and make reservations at Recreation.gov

Spring Creek Park Trailhead

Spring Creek Park Trailhead offers a large parking area and one corral. Access into the Bridger Wilderness is provided by the Glimpse Lake Trail, Pine Creek Canyon Trail and Snake Lake Trail.

Spring Creek Picnic Area

The Spring Creek Picnic Area has eight picnic sites. Restroom facilities are available.  The picnic area is located adjacent to Spring Creek, in an open forest/woodland of ponderosa pine, oak, willow and cottonwood.

Spring Creek Reservoir Boating Site- Gunnison RD

Non-motorized boat launch for the Spring Creek Reservoir located adjacent to Mosca Campground.

Spring Creek Reservoir Picnic Site

This site serves as a rest area, picnic ground, and fishing lake. It sits right along the Silverthread Scenic Byway between Creede, Colorado and Lake City, Colorado.  The approach road and parking lot is paved. There are 2 picnic units with tables and fireplaces. There is a vault toilet. No drinking water and no refuse receptacles. It is “Pack It In/ Pack It Out”.

Spring Creek Sheep Viewing Site

Babcock Mountain and the Spring Creek trailhead in Rock Creek can be excellent places to see bighorn sheep. They use the grassy hillsides for foarging and the steep cliffs in the area for protection, especially during lambing season . Spring Creek Shooting Range

A nice covered facility with both rifle and pistol ranges. Three target holders are available for practice shooting. Each target holder has a trail lead into the target holder. Please use caution in shooting range area and pick up your spent casings and trash before you leave. Camping is available at Gee Creek Campground or along Spring Creek. Picnic Areas and river opportunities are available on the Hiwassee River.

Spring Creek Trailhead

The Spring Creek Trailhead offers picnicking, hiking and fishing opportunities. Three picnic sites, a restroom and a trash receptacle are available. This area is usually open May to October, depending on snow conditions. Access Dodgeton Trail #1302 from this trailhead.

Spring Creek Trailhead

From Rapid City, travel about 14 miles South/west on Sheridan Lake Road.  Spring Creek Trailhead is located .4 miles south of Sheridan Lake Road on National Forest System Road 390.  This trailhead serves both the Centennial Trail and the Flume Trail (#50).  It is located below Sheridan Lake along Spring Creek.

Spring Creek Trailhead

The trail begins with a small ATV bridge across the creek from a dispersed campsite and parking area just on the west of Greys River, about 46 miles upriver from Alpine, Wyoming. It provides motorized access for 2 miles, then becomes a horse/hiking trail that connects to the Way Trail, or over the top to Sheep Pass. Spring Creek Falls is an attraction.

Spring Creek Trail #878 leaves Vermilion East Fisher Road on Weyerhaeuser land. Easements are in place for the trail corridor across the private parcel. The trail follows Spring Creek for 1.3 miles where the maintenance ends. An old Forest System trail that is no longer maintained continues up the drainage. Spring Creek-State Line Trailhead

The trailhead is accessed through private property off Spring Creek Road; be sure to close the Harmon Ranch gate when traveling through. At corrals about 1/2 mile past gate, Spring Creek trail follows the bottom and goes through to Packstring Creek on Hwy 89. Stateline Trail heads west to the ridgeline.

Spring Hill Campground

Springdale Campground

This campground has 13 sites and is located 1.7 miles east of Woodland Park on Rampart Range Road 300. This is a standard, nonelectric campground. Firewood, shelter and water are not provided. There is tight space for vehicles with a maximum limit of 30 feet.

Springer Gulch Campground

Springer Gulch Campground is seven miles southwest of Lake George on County Road 96 in Eleven Mile Canyon. It has 15 campsites with parking spurs 20-28 feet and a maximum trailer length of 25 feet. Facilities include toilets, tables, water and fire rings. Dates are weather dependent. All services may not be available early or late in the season.
