Over 3 million acres of land located in 22 National Recreation Areas managed by the Forest Service is preserved for recreational activities like hiking, boating, fishing and swimming, while highlighting natural, cultural and scenic resources. Visitors who choose to recreate on these public lands find 164,000 miles of trails, over 30,000 recreation sites, over 5,000 miles of streams and 3 million acres of lakes, 127 alpine ski areas, 338,000 heritage sites, and specially designated sites that include 37 million acres of designated wilderness areas, 130 wild and scenic rivers, 15 monuments, and one preserve. Sno-Park: Wakepish

In a mature and varied forest setting, this park is near Mount St. Helens and Forest Road 99. Here visitors will find access to sweeping vistas, remote forest lakes, high-mountain elevations. A groomed route south of the Sno-Park connects to a variety of snow-covered roads on the north and south sides of Elk Pass. This area offers many viewing opportunities of Mount St. Helens.

Snodgrass #590

The Snodgrass trail is 2.6 miles long. It begins at Gunnison County Road 811 and ends at Crested Butte Mountain Resort. The trail is open for the following uses: Hiking, Mountain Biking, Horseback Riding

Snodgrass Trailhead

The Snodgrass trail is 5.8 miles long. It begins at Trailhead Sec 21 Lttle Ant and ends at Silver King Trail 21017 Sec 18. Access/entry point to the Carson-Iceberg Wilderness area. Generally open May to October as weather and conditions allow.

Snow Creek #233 Trailhead

Trailhead for Snow Creek Trail #233.  The trailhead sign, roughly 3.8 miles down Forest Road 282 Sheep Corral Rd., says "Forest Trail." 3.25 miles of this trail was logged in the summer of 2020. Trail #233 leaves from Sheep Corral Road and connects to Sheep Corral Canyon Road. It is an access trail to the Sapillo/Gila River confluence and Goose Lake.
