Your national forests and grasslands are 193 million acres of vast, scenic beauty waiting for you to discover. Over 3 million acres of land located in 22 National Recreation Areas managed by the Forest Service is preserved for recreational activities like hiking, boating, fishing and swimming, while highlighting natural, cultural and scenic resources. Visitors who choose to recreate on these public lands find 164,000 miles of trails, over 30,000 recreation sites, over 5,000 miles of streams and 3 million acres of lakes, 127 alpine ski areas, 338,000 heritage sites, and specially designated sites that include 37 million acres of designated wilderness areas, 130 wild and scenic rivers, 15 monuments, and one preserve. Engle Peak Trailhead #926

This Cabinet Mountains Wilderness trail leads to Engle Lake Trail #932, intersecting the trail on the ridgeline approximately 1.5 miles west of Engle Peak. Engle Lake Trail #932 continues on to Engle Lake, and Engle Lake Trail #932A ends at Engle Peak (elevation 7583’). Engle Peak Trail #926 receives very little use and crosses numerous old skid trails and roads.

Enoree Ranger District

The Enoree is well-known for its recreation opportunities on the Enoree, Tyger and Broad rivers, as well as a challenging Off-Highway Vehicle (OHV) trail. It also offers outstanding hiking, boating, hunting target shooting and equestrian opportunities.

Enough Boat Launch and Trailhead

Enough Boat Launch is a single-lane gravel launch. Over by the Enough boat launch there is an abundance of lily pads. Because this lake was built due to dam construction there are trees in the lake by this boat launch and around the perimeter of the lake. Enterprise Reservoir

The Enterprise Reservoirs lies within a pinyon-juniper forest surrounded by large volcanic tuff rocks.  The reservoir is popular for fishing, boating, kayaking and canoeing, and wildlife viewing.  Nearby opportunities include OHV riding, hiking, biking, horseback riding, campground camping and dispersed camping. 

Entiat Falls Viewpoint

This broad 25-foot, cascading natural waterfall makes quite a rejuvenating impression. Bring a picnic lunch or just stretch your legs and enjoy. Take precaution as river rock can be very slick.

Entiat Ranger District

The Entiat Ranger District is a tapered slice of the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest, located in the more arid eastern edge of the Cascade Mountains. Erickson Springs Campground- Paonia RD

Erickson Springs Campground is in a dense spruce and fir forest setting near Anthracite Creek and receives little sunlight so it is cooler than much of the surrounding area. Each site has a tent pad and can accommodate smaller camping trailers, a picnic table and combination fire ring/grill. There is a picnic area prior to the campground with 2 tables and a restroom and a separate ATV…

Erickson Springs Picnic Site

Erickson Springs Recreation Area includes a picnic area with two picnic tables and a vaulted toilet. The tables sit on the bank of Anthricate Creek before entering the campground area.

Ermie Walters Boat Launch

This is a small site with picnic tables and a boat ramp that is accessible during high water periods. The site is maintained by volunteers.

Escalante Interagency Visitor Center

The Escalante Interagency Visitor Center opened on April 11, 2005 and is staffed with Bureau of Land Management, National Park Service and Forest Service personnel. Escalante Ranger District

Lake along the East Boulder Creek Loop The Escalante Ranger district is known for its high mountain lakes and large stands of aspen trees. The majority of the district is located on high timbered plateaus with rolling hills and open meadows. This district has many campgrounds, dispersed camping areas, gorgeous trails and views.  

Escondido Campground

Camp is located among oak trees and grassland meadow. The Arroyo Seco River is nearby. There are 9 campsites.  Reservations: 8 campsites can be reserved through www.recreation.gov or call 1-877-444-6777.  (1) campsite is on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Escudilla National Recreation Trail - # 308

**NOTICE**The Escudilla Wilderness has been severely affected by the Wallow Fire of June 2011. The area is currently open to public use and entry, HOWEVER - The trails may not yet be assessed or maintained for hazards associated with the fire.  The Escudilla Lookout was severely damaged by the fire, and there are overhead hazards to being in the area below.

Esswine Group Campground
