Over 3 million acres of land located in 22 National Recreation Areas managed by the Forest Service is preserved for recreational activities like hiking, boating, fishing and swimming, while highlighting natural, cultural and scenic resources. Visitors who choose to recreate on these public lands find 164,000 miles of trails, over 30,000 recreation sites, over 5,000 miles of streams and 3 million acres of lakes, 127 alpine ski areas, 338,000 heritage sites, and specially designated sites that include 37 million acres of designated wilderness areas, 130 wild and scenic rivers, 15 monuments, and one preserve. Seneca Rocks Discovery Center

The Seneca Rocks Discovery Center is located at the base of Seneca Rocks. An amazing view of the vertical wall of the Rocks dominates the scene. The Center is a great place to start your visit and learn about things to do in the area. Be sure to stop in at the nearby Sites Homestead.

Seven Brothers Trail - 045

Trail #045 - This 5.5-mile-long trail enters the southeast portion of Cloud Peak Wilderness within the first few miles. The trail continues to Seven Brothers Lake, where there is limited camping available. Just before the lake there is a junction with Trail - 044 that heads northwest to access Solitude Loop Trail - 038.

Seven Devils Campground

The Seven Devils Campground is a small rustic facility located near the Hells Canyon Wilderness. The site is set in a cool fir and spruce forest and has 10 tent-only campsite sites. A short walk from the campground is Seven Devils Lake which offers fishing, photography and a chance to view scenery and wildflowers.

Seven Lakes Trailhead

Fee trailhead at popular Big Creek Lakes Recreation Area. One mile interpretive trail leads to upper Big Creek Lake. Trails beyond lead to Big Creek Falls and Seven Lakes area of Mount Zirkel Wilderness. Please refer to the Wilderness regulations. Trailhead includes limited pull through parking for horse trailers, a small horse corral, and outhouse.

Seven Springs Picnic Site

Seven Springs Picnick Site was constructed by the CCC (Civilian Conservation Corps) in 1934. The entrance road and portions of the picnick site wash out regularly so there is no vehicle access to the site. Camping is available approximately 300 yards north at the CCC Campground.
